Good Afternoon
LABOUR --- the political party, as opposed to a body or physical toil rendered by labourers.
Neither is it uterine contractions in childbirth I want to draw your attention to...not that I have experienced
that you understand...I say leave that to women.
So, yes you have guessed it, I want to draw your attention to the political party representing the interests
of workers, formed in 1900 by trade unions and socialists...read it in a Christmas cracker didn't I.
Does anyone find Labour, the word and title rather prosaic, rather parochial...not International enough?
Could we not find a more sublime title for a party at the centre of UK and European politics, a
modern title...does not the name conjure up an old fashioned image, too historical?
Would it be more thought provoking and sexier if we had a title with more potential for
getting votes?
Yes of course it is an honourable name in an historical sense but is it not a bit dreary, rather
boring, a gift for the tories now?
Say to yourselves..."Labour Party"...yes/no? does it fill you with excitement, inspiration,
does it make you feel sexy?...thought not!
Does it put voters off do you think? Yes we prefer voters to cast their votes on policies but
don't we have to take care of the peripheries, the marketing aspects...image and
subliminal messages to voters, the media monster is watching us!
How about some glamour, some art and architecture, some poetry...maybe some sexual
innuendo into the title...porn would be taking it too far though!
Cast out Labour Party to the archives, be updated, uplifted...get rid of brylcream and use
mega gel.
Here are a few possible titles...any suggestions from anyone else welcome?
PARAGON PARTY LIBRA PARTY
WILSONIAN PARTY SPENDTHRIFT PARTY (oops)
TORCHBEARERS PARTY (strikes?) TRANSWORLD PARTY (international image)
ALL MERRY, HAPPY AND BRIGHT PARTY (???)
FARGAZE PARTY CAMELOT PARTY
EXCELSIOR PARTY (seal of New York state)
LEFT OF THE MOON PARTY (for the lunatic fringe)
FAR BEYOND AND PONDER PARTY ASKMENOW PARTY
CONSERVATORY PARTY
