So...there was this Labour councillor called Daisy Blakemore elected last year at the age of 18 onto Peterborough Council.
But then there was a falling out this year and she quit to become Independent.
And guess where she decided to write all this up?
Why, the Daily Telegraph of course! FFS ...

Re: Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th July 2025
Well that was an exciting ladies Wimbledon final!
As a boob enthusiast it would be obvious who I was cheering for but it didn't do her much good poor lass.
Yes, it was kinda embarrassing - I was willing her to get at least one game but no...
Incidentally...that change in time from the usual ...

Good morning.
It didn't take much digging to find that the co-founder of Rupert Lowe's 'this really isn't a political party party called Restore would quite like a dictatorship. Shocked!

Good afternoon.
I see the World's Greatest Headteacher is on the BBC again - QT tonight.
Almost tempted to watch (until I get fed up with her) just to see how deranged and shouty she gets,
As a reminder - 4FE (in terms of secondary schools that is pretty small) with a narrow curriculum. No ICT ...

Re: Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th June 2025
Good thread on the Daily Fail outrage story about an independently-schooled pupil being denied healthcare on the NHS because of where he goes to school. Cue frothing by Tory MPs.
Trouble is that it is due to commissioning rules brought in by the Tories themselves in 2014. Basically the LA ...

Good morning.
It's been said that 11,000 pupils have left private education after the VAT imposition on fees.
Now that might sound a lot but it represents a massive...er...2% of the numbers of privately-educated pupils.
And with over 21,000 state schools that is...um about 0.5 pupils per school ...

Good afternoon. It's been a while I know...been a bit busy.
Well anyway...firstly Reform's chairman has a pop at one of the MPs for asking the PM to do something that isn't even one of their own policies and now...man overboard!
Oops!

Good afternoon.
Things that are entirely unsurprising...
1. A Reform candidate for Runcorn by-election who is a former Tory Mayor.
2. Some bod who was political editor at Paul Marshall's UnHerd now installed as editor of the New Statesman.

Evening.
Funny how you see names and think that it rings a bell...there's a chap who lives not far from me who has been writing to the Ilford Recorder. Today's effort is very pro-oil and gas exploration.

This is exactly right. Trump's 'we're discussing land and power stations' is his way of getting a peace deal - by agreeing to whatever Putin wants.

Re: Thursday 13h March 2025
I see that dimwitted Tories are posting a list of quangos (sic) that labour have apparently created since last July.
One of them is the House of Commons Modernisation Committee.
How stupid do you have to be to not realise that the title might give it away that it's not actually a quango?

NHS England to be abolished and brought back into the DHSC.
Good. Never could see the logic of having it as an ALB in the same way as the British Museum, the BFI, National Gallery, Debt Management Office etc.
