My daughter prefers physics to chemistry because there's more maths in it. I don't think it's the maths putting girls off. I think it's other things being more interesting and our peculiar and outdated obsession with specialising in just three subjects from age 16.

Johnson in trouble with the Speaker for addressing the gallery at PMQs. He's looking quite desperate. He may yet survive but there's definitely a sense he could potentially be in danger which we've not really seen before, I think.

It's been pretty gusty here today. The houses either side of us have both lost roof tiles. It keeps calming down and then starts up again so for those areas that are behind us I'm afraid there's probably more to come. It's been proper stormy all day.
