I was expecting my latest Work Capability Assessment around now and was freaking out about it so I just rang them up to find out when to expect the worst.
So you can imagine my delighted astonishment when I was told it wouldn't be until September 2017, apparently all existing claims are having their assessments deferred for 2 years until Maximus and the DWP get their shit sorted out. I don't know how much longer this will apply for, the bloke didn't know himself, but if you're expecting to be summoned for a WCA in the near future it's probably worth ringing up to see if you'll be getting an extra couple of years hassle free grace courtesy of Iain Duncan Smith's bungling incompetence.
I hope this is good news for some of you.
WCA being deferred for 2 years for existing ESA claimants.

Delighted for you, @Sky! Hope it applies to everyone else, too. And congrats on your courage in ringing up to check - a heck of a lot of people would just have continued to worry and fear so it took real guts to pick up that 'phone and make the call. <that's a flinging-ones-arms-around-someone-in-delight-type hug
