If there was such an attempt ... any rerun would surely see London come out in just as great force to vote for Khan again?RobertSnozers wrote:I have a very, very bad feeling about this.PaulfromYorkshire wrote:Is this some kind of joke?

If we want a conspiracy, it will have kept the definitive result off tomorrow's front pages.

Re: Friday 6th May 2016
So the total net loss of council seats by Labour is 17 at present - with most of the councils declared. Conservative net losses are 23.
That's a very long way off the supposed 150 losses Labour was predicted to have.

I'll don my tinfoil hat and join you in that conspiratorial thought. Although on second thoughts when did actual reality affect the front pages of the the Times, Sun and Evening Standard over the last few weeks and days?PaulfromYorkshire wrote:If we want a conspiracy, it will have kept the definitive result off tomorrow's front pages.

Re: Friday 6th May 2016
I've just watched the announcement, and the speeches by Sadiq Khan and Zac Goldsmith.
One about hope rather than fear, about the inclusivity of everyone, about candidates and teams contributing to the entire election.
One about his team, his campaign, his manifesto, his disappointment and what Boris has built up already.
And I thought to myself: wot a w*nker.

And here are the final votes, once second preferences from the minor candidates were taken into account.

Useless Labour and extremist Khan win by 316,000.
Doubtless this is brutally "Londoncentric" to point out, but Khan alone got more 250,000 more votes than the SNP did and 785,000 more than Ruth Davidson's Scottish Tories. I'll not mention Scottish Labour, but you get the point.
