Maybe we should just make every saints day (when falling on a Monday) a bank holiday, it would get support from Labour, Greens & probably some Christians (although maybe not wholly compatible with the Protestant work ethic, and Catholics would probably want a rota so that all saints get a fair share of days)
Protestants don't generally celebrate saints days, whilst I believe there are still statutes prohibiting Public celebration of catholic feast days sitting on the books - at least in England, church in wales is disestablished so it may be different.

However, we have less bank holidays than most of the developed world on 8 a year - compared to an average in Europe of 11. Germany has 13 if you include different state holidays. Only Mexico has less than us... Celebrating all the saints in each country might just be a good thing for the Union, after all, and I say that as a confirmed atheist who cares not a jot for saints or religion.

As for a 3 day weekend, it's not somethng Ive heard seriously discussed by Greens, although UBI is popular.

From a French poster on another site:
[Le Pen's] only get a few more votes from the right (and possibly from the extreme left). Macron already got the support of every other party. It will be a 65/35 second round.
Problem is the next election for MPs in June. I doubt Macron will get a majority. Coalitions are OK but get you so far.

Behind Melenchon? Maybe, but he's Marine Le Pen without being racist. Complete short term and long term clusterfuck. Also Fillon endorsed Macron immediately. The repackaged obnoxious old Melenchon is having trouble doing that.

Hamon coming 3rd would have been nice. Actually him coming 2nd would be nice.

Quite a lot of Paris not yet in. Le Pen should do very badly there.

The town I lived in for a year gave Le Pen 39%.

Never going there again.
