Loved this pic from some of our youths …

" Immigration" all depends on who they are refering to . This article covers the EU side of it very wellWillow904 wrote: if it's a choice between controlling immigration or staying in the single market to protect the economy the latter should come first.
" the biggest deception is this: we could easily have taken back control of our borders already under European Parliament and Council Directive 2004/38/EC, which allows EU member states to repatriate EU nationals after three months if they have not found a job or do not have the means to support themselves. In this month’s debate on the House of Lords EU subcommittee report on EU migration, I challenged the government on why we were not availing ourselves of this directive – and I got no response.
Other countries, such as Belgium, regularly repatriate thousands of individuals based on this directive. If the public knew we had this ability, perhaps the fear that exists would dissipate. Why is the government not using it, and why is the British public not aware of it? "
Remember when TBlair was forcing UK Consulates to dish out visas to all and sundry ?
Must do a snopes check on whether that one-legged Romanian roofer existed

THATCHER WOZ RIGHT !
” At a recent event at the London School of Economics in honour of the late Peter Sutherland – the man who set up the WTO and whom Pascal Lamy succeeded – the latter could hardly have put it more plainly: “The internal market is the top league. The WTO is the bottom.”
The internal market is usually referred to in the UK as the single market, of which Mrs Thatcher was a passionate supporter, arguing that it would give the UK economy “access to over 300 million of the world’s most prosperous people, bigger than Japan, bigger than the US. It’s not some bureaucrat’s dream – it’s for real.”
The propagation and membership of the internal/single market was considered by former Tory chancellor Kenneth Clarke to be Margaret Thatcher’s greatest achievement. “

We have a little list of those who voted against having that referendum

Those who voted for it, 'might' not be missed ?
Have any of them expressed regret for their decision ?

Yes, but we are talking about Marr here - the days when he was up to speed on things are some way in the past.
