I've got my second vaccination on Saturday but I don't want it, all the evidence shows a 12 week delay gives a stronger immune response and better long term protection than 8 weeks. Unfortunately there appears to be sod all I can do about it besides cancel my appointment and I've no idea what would happen if I did. It's extremely frustrating. Especialy considering it's only happening because that buffoon Johnson was pandering to a fascist.

I don't think there's that much difference tbh - indeed, wasn't it originally believed that 8 weeks was better?

Would just go and get it done myself.

@Sky'sGoneOut

If you believe that the longer gap between vaccinations is the best option, cancel (or, in actuality, postpone) the appointment you have and get a later one. From what I can tell, that shouldn't pose any problem - not hereabouts, anyway. At least it will set your mind at rest.

It's not a matter of belief, it's a fact, absolutely all the evidence shows reducing the time between vaccinations substantially reduces its efficacy.

https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanc ... 6/fulltext

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/p ... ments-area
The deputy chair of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, Professor Anthony Harnden...(snip)... confirmed that earlier doses for over-50s will make the vaccine less effective for these individuals over the long term.

“Leaving the second dose for a longer period of up to 12 weeks does give you better and longer term protection,” Prof Harnden told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. There’s data on that now.
https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/ind ... 751968.cms
A three-month gap between two doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, known in India as Covishield, improves the immune response against Covid-19, according to Andrew Pollard, co-developer of the vaccine and head of Oxford University’s Vaccine Group.
In an exclusive interview to Times Evoke, Pollard said the longer the interval between the vaccine’s two doses, the stronger the body’s immune response will be. "A three-month interval produces very good protection – this gets even better with a longer interval from three to four months. A longer time gap gets a stronger immune response after the second dose. To get the maximum immune response, it’s worth waiting longer."

I shall continue to ponder my options. I'm much too sober to decide now.

I thought it was fairly common knowledge that at least some of the people in LAAS are not actual party members?

A distinctly misleading title for that reason amongst others, I agree.

I wasn't suggesting that it wasn't scientific fact, I was just attempting to sell you my particular brand of advice.

Have you considered getting something to distract them?

Fortunately as he's not a Labour member he won't have to report himself.

Let's see what Northumbria University do, I'm guessing nothing.

I'm not sure what I'm offended by most. Some juvenile pillock photoshopping The Protocols of Zion onto Rosen's book to smear him and Corbyn. Or the accusation that if you're offended by that you're automatically a Jeremy Corbyn supporter.

I note the dear old Beeb make no mention of this prat being a self appointed crusader against Left wing antisemitism, or in this case, let's face it, the wrong kind of Jew.
