@sky thanks for the QT review.

Like shooting fish in a barrel, surely the least we can expect of a Labour MP.Wes Streeting did pretty well, he skewered Braverman on refugees and Lebedev and Johnson glad handing the Saudis.

There are times when they haven't managed it, though.

Yes, that was unfortunate. But gloating about it, as certain #FBPEers have done, is maybe not the wisest reaction.

Re: Friday 18th March 2022
I'd say it was rather more than unfortunate. It was a catastrophically stupid error of judgement made with no foresight whatsoever and which had bad consequences for almost everyone.

Re: Friday 18th March 2022
Its not even totally clear that what has happened is "because of Brexit", or at least that is only one reason amongst several.

Re: Friday 18th March 2022
Brexit is implicated more because of its effect on P&O's business model, which must be quite dramatic, than for any implications for employment legislation.
Have we actually changed anything yet?
Get the impression they're happy to pay whatever compensation they have to, to get rid of the workforce. Scum.

Re: Friday 18th March 2022
P&O partly justify their action by claiming to have been making losses. Many of which can be attributed to "Brexit".
Re: Friday 18th March 2022
On a lighter note
Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder went full tiny violin emojis and sarcy pants when talking about FA Cup quarter-final opponents Chelsea earlier today.
Responding to speculation that the Blues may not be able to fly to Teesside for the match due to limits being placed on their spending, Wilder couldn’t resist a playful dig.
“They won’t make a long coach trip. They’ll be looking down the back of the settee this afternoon to see if they can find a couple of quid – I usually look at the golf bag, that’s where I keep a couple of quid just to keep it away from people – and chuck it into a pot to get up on the plane.
“What happens? The millionaire footballers all club together and chuck a couple of quid in and hire their own private jet. They’re all on possibly, over £100,000 a week – it’s quite a big number, that.”
You tell ‘em champ.

Absolutely, and cutting the bosses pay and the dividends is a lot further back in the line of possible responses than shafting the workforce.
Not sure how they think their business model will handle the massive hit to their reputation, but that's small consolation.

Four polls out today, and none of them showing this massive "Falklands moment" for Johnson/Tories that some pundits were getting so breathless about.

Re: Friday 18th March 2022
Wouldn't a "Falklands moment" require the UK being at war with someone? Or am I missing something?
