A bit of a surprise just now .

Yesterday I was the only masker that I saw in a couple of large shops. OK they were far from full, but that was still a first !

Today I checked the figures . Not that many people are now going through the whole rigmarole of PCR testing so there will be some individual Département variability from the relatively small numbers in the stats , but still --

Most of France is now quite suddenly in the red , having over 50 on the 7days/100K population index, and taking the low uptake of 'official' testing the reality is some magnitude higher.

All of which means that lifting precautions in hospitals** etc is completely daft, UNLESS they really and idiotically believe infection is good for you ... and are ignoring the research of the link between even mild cases and delayed morbidity as well as Long Covid.

** Ireland being a rare exception .

I have a sneaking suspicion that Iceland's Dilja is a keen fan - though perhaps not an avid practitioner - of Les Mills' popular fitness programme "Body Combat". The advantage of this is that Iceland's dance routine is the sort of thing that most of us could aspire to - even (especially?) after a couple of vermouths. It's also the sort of thing that you can do in a big sparkly pin-striped suit (which brought to mind the old blokes' suits we used to acquire from second hand shops in the 80s, along with fond memories of Afflecks Palace).

The song itsef was almost certainly created by an algorithm. There was nothing especially wrong with it if you like that kind of thing (whatever it is) - but there was nothing noteworthy about it either. I did like the botanical videos in the background, and at least there was no writhing, no angst and no ducks.
