Cybenat logic.

- We're getting lots of working class voters?
- Sure. But what have you actually done for them, as opposed to the middle class?
- So those people are stupid are they?

Ashdown said: "The SNP has got one aim. They're are not coming south to help Westminster work. They are coming south as a Scottish raiding party to burn Westminster down and to make the thing dysfunctional. I watched this happen in the Balkans by the way, you first of all make it dysfunctional and then you have a case for breaking away, that's what their aim is."http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2015/03 ... 67228.html
So basically exactly what the ConDems have been doing with the NHS.

Sturgeon inquiry piece is up to over 5000 comments! The number of Labour blaming comments doesn't reflect well upon the nats.

Ed Miliband exclusive: Labour leader talks candidly about Bedroom Tax, "hell, yes" and Easter eggs

(....and for us Ed nice picky lovers some nice piccys! lol)

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/ed ... er-5461120" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

"But he brought sniggers from a studio audience when he answered “hell, yes” to a Jeremy Paxman question on whether he was tough enough .
Mr Miliband said: “If that had been scripted I would never have said it. It just came out in the moment.”

Any regrets about that?

“Hell, no,” he said "

Unfortunately many seem to be completely barking. It does seem to be rather cultish. I had to ban myself from reading btl in scottish articles a couple of years ago as it wasn't good for the soul.

I've been reading "What a Carve Up" by Jonathan Coe and I have come to the conclusion that I'm fed up with Tories, especially the toff ones. Get this:

'The trick is to keep doing outrageous things. There's no point in passing some scandalous piece of legislation and then giving everyone time to get worked up about it. You have to get right in there and top it with something even worse, before the public have had a chance to work out what's hit them.'

1994 that book was written. It could have been written yesterday. I could get people maybe being fooled by Cameron's modernisation make-over, hug a huskie bollocks, but now....? They'll never change. Why do people keep voting for them?

Which party recently governed along side the Conservatives?

The SNP absolutely are the enemy, but the UK campaign needs to disconnect from Scotland and go back to fighting the main event.

Leave Murphy the job of fighting the Nats. As for Sturgeon's letter, which could have been crafted by Cameron, best ignored.

I think she's been done over by a leak of something she didn't say (though lots of Nats think that, she might too) and Labour jumped in too quickly. She's within her rights to have a go back.

It's not like Ed Miliband to speak precipitously. It's not characteristic of him to do so. I'm therefore more inclined to give credibility to his words.

I think you give her far too much credit. We know the note exists, given the lack of Civil Service comment it seems highly likely it says what The Telegraph claimed. Against that we have the flat denials by people with a vested interest in denying it. Unless you wish to believe civil servants make this stuff up. As posted above there are three possibilities the last is by far the least likely.

That is just possible, but the non-denial denial with its very careful choice of words, looks awfully like a fallback position.

Oh yes. Definitely. When has he ever checked his facts? And look at the debate the other night. The note saying all the money's gone, and drinking out of flower vases...

' Nicola Sturgeon offers new deal to help Ed Miliband into No 10 '

How very good of her. I'm hoping for a slim Labour minority / majority where the SNP MPs have to walk the walk after what Sturgeon has been saying. It could be an interesting dynamic between Salmond and Sturgeon leading up to 2016 Scottish elections.

Presumably they paid somebody to lift them from somewhere. I don't imagine they will say much, a bunch of tedious facts and figures, and notes like look at camera - mention xyz, don't do abc.

Miliband's motivational debate notes were left behind in his dressing room on Thursday. The Sun on Sunday and @SunNation have them.
Bit sloppy if they were really left behind.

How very good of her. I'm hoping for a slim Labour minority / majority where the SNP MPs have to walk the walk after what Sturgeon has been saying. It could be an interesting dynamic between Salmond and Sturgeon leading up to 2016 Scottish elections.
Yeah, that would be my favourite too. Out of reach though.

How on earth would that work? They'd be elected as Tory and then switch to UKIP a week later? Or we'd have a string of by-elections just weeks after a general election? And Cameron claims Labour would bring chaos.

There's a good piece by Nick Cohen on the Guardian site on Europe and Tory chaos ...

The Tories European problem will bring chaos
Cameron’s decision to hold a referendum on Europe in 2017, should the Tories win, will bring political, constitutional and economic chaos, which will continue into the 2020s. I suspect he is bailing out because he knows it all too well.

Some time ago I read a blog about Scottish LA debt. Been looking for it and can't find it now (it was called something like Scotland's black hole bombshell), but this from the Guardian is along similar lines.
The blog had much more details and expressed the opinion that Scotland could be in trouble, I don't understand finances on this scale but it was something to do with writing the debt forward(?)

"Scottish councils pile up record debt
Labour attacks Scottish government for forcing authorities to borrow to offset cuts to funding from Holyrood"

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/201 ... ecord-debt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If it all goes tits up are the whole UK responsible for picking up the tab ?

You have to get right in there and top it with something even worse, before the public have had a chance to work out what's hit them.'

1994 that book was written. It could have been written yesterday. I could get people maybe being fooled by Cameron's modernisation make-over, hug a huskie bollocks, but now....? They'll never change. Why do people keep voting for them?
That was exactly govt policy in 2010-11. You had the NHS White Paper, forest sell-off, cancelling the census, huge cuts to local government budgets, raising VAT, scrapping Harriers, Nimrods and aircraft carriers, privatising search and rescue, mass closure of coastguard stations, Extending Atos and WCA etc etc. I'm convinced the tactic was to bombard us with it while our heads were still spinning, and not give people time to focus on one thing in particular.
If you read Owen Jones' book on the Establishment he says this is precisely what they do. Remember all that fuss over Cameron's personal photographer? What were they slipping through while that was raging. They're masters of the squirrel.
