Gove's lost another MP then.

Odd that someone whose main skill is mouthing off in the media was chosen for Chief Whip, which is all about discretion.

I thought he was going to be doing the job easily and leading the attack on Labour in his spare time.

Hmmm.

In normal situations, defection to the Lib Dems would be a good idea for some.

But that would suicidal for most. She ought not too- she's got the chairmanship of the Health Select Committee.

Serious chat of more defections to the Kippers, the skin crawling Philip Davies of Shipley, who confuses being a straight talking Yorkshireman with being an absolute twat. The other being the unfortunate looking Philip Hollobone, and to think word has it that Ed had a difficult week?

Nobody - absolutely nobody - is allowed to post said photos here, if so. By order of one of FTN's Lord Chancellors.

Blimey - I go to work for the afternoon and come back to find Farage has stuck 2 fingers up at Cameron - AGAIN - and another Tory has got involved in sleasy weasy stuff and had to resign. It's just like the good / bad old days of John Major. We really are back to basics with this lot.

No 10's statement on the latest resignation included the classic line "...it's nothing to do with Ukip".

Well that's all right then.

Will Brooks Newman resign as an MP? Bet he doesn't. Which leads me to ask: when it's a matter of personal behaviour - if it's unacceptable in a minister why should it be any more acceptable in an MP?

David Cameron is due in Birmingham for the conference any minute now according to the BBC. You'd have to have a heart of stone etc etc . . .

Labour hits back at expenses scandal
A TORY MP has been caught out for claiming over £11,000 in taxpayer’s money on properties in London, despite owning two properties and renting a third in the area.
Rochford and Southend East MP James Duddridge has allegedly falsely claimed £11,248 on London hotels from April to December.
The MP expenses 2013/14 also show other claims from renting a flat in the London area until March 2014.

Makes you want to hose down such thieving, self-serving toerags with a very strong solution of bleachy water, doesn't it. Will take such drastic action to clean their stench and ordure up and out.

As the Labour MPs in the article say ... unbelievable that this can be allowed whilst there are ordinary people struggling to pay the bedroom tax - through no choice or fault of their own.

A year ago they'd crept back up to £147,000. Today [and they're leasehold] they are going for £165,000.
It's probably the one bedroom making them so popular and likely to fall a bit if the bedroom tax is dropped.
Locally, 2-bed flats identical to mine sold for around £210,00 just before the crash and dropped to around £190,000 in late 2008. We are on a small scheme close to a good university and good transport connections, in very leafy surroundings for London, so prices hold well. In November 2013, a similar flat here sold for £270,000 and one is on the market now for £360,000. Property bubble is near to bursting, again...

You can almost hear the gritted teeth in this from Rentoul re the ComRes poll for the Indy:
finds that Labour has stretched its lead over the Conservatives to six points, and that Ed Miliband’s favourability rating has improved slightly despite his forgetting passages about the deficit and immigration in his conference speech.
and I love this:
The poll also suggests that David Cameron is no longer an asset to his party: although 8% of voters say they would like to vote for him but not his party, 11% said they would like to vote for the Conservatives but not for him.
