There seems to be an #edmalltheway hashtag in support of Ed, people are using it on the end of tweets about anything, so if anyone tweeting tonight .....
RobertSnozers wrote:Just done the YouGov VI survey - full of questions about Ed Miliband's leadership, whether you'd vote for Labour if David Miliband, Alan Johnson, Yvette Cooper, Ed Balls etc were in charge. Push polling at its best. The establishment must be bloody terrified.
YouGov were quick off the mark with that, you'd almost think they were expecting today's 'news'.
Interesting, that. I haven't been asked to take that Poll. You don't think it might be because I identify too clearly as a left-leaning, viruently anti-Tory/UKIP/Lib Dem voter and they're scared I might skew the results towards accuracy, do you?

I do hope it all backfires.
I just replied to a Tweet from Owen Jones on our behalf. He's saying everyone is in crisis. But it's not true. Labour, the Greens and the SNP are all demonstrably not in crisis and all have a sensible policy offer.
The MSM/blairite based Ed-bashing doesn't seem to be entering the public conciousness. No one is talking about it in the reality of social media on a personal level. Quite the opposite.

Latest round of Ed-bashing especially cruel because unconnected to specific action. Charge is 'being Ed' - makes it v hard to respond.

I'll be on Radio 5 Live in 20 talking about today's Miliband news. I say news - nothing's actually happened. But I'm still talking about it.
Perhaps they should stop indulging the bashers then.

@rafaelbehr Agreed. Seems the process has assumed its own momentum, whether or not he does anything. Impossible to recover?

@rafaelbehr
@shodanalexm tricky. I think he needs to find way to own it more - be self-deprecating abt geeky persona; play to 'not typical politician'
Perhaps he should buy a black pea jacket, grow some stubble (perhaps even a moustache), smoke the odd e cigarette, down specialist beers at every opportunity ....

@dwppressoffice I am interested in why this press release directly contradicts @UKStatsAuth letter here: http://www.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/r ... 052013.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; … Any excuse?

Yvette Cooper should get off her useless fat arse and kick off about this. But she won't, because she is useless.
Maybe we should tweet her with a link and a statement like.
Don't just sit there start kicking hard. These are our liberties.
What do you want Cooper to do? What action is within her power to do at this time? What makes you think Cooper isn't acting at this very moment? I don't know the answers to the three questions I've asked you.

She has no power - she is in opposition. This is what I want her to do.
1. Make a statement that this is an outrageous abuse of power (see David Davis).
2. Demand assurances that this will cease immediately - except in the case where the Intelligence services can show reasonable suspicion that the lawyer is a terrorist.
3. Make it clear that a Labour government will put a stop to this sort of behaviour.
If she is still confused she can copy David Davis. Who frankly would be a much better shadow Home Secretary. She isn't acting right now because Labour aren't raising this as a serious scandal. The only quote is from DD.

Too many acronyms?
Sparrow's credibility has surely taken a knock by declaring his blog finished for the day a couple of hours ago, saying he had a meeting to go to yet lo & behold, re-opens it to continue the stupid story.
Bollocks to Sparrow & to all of the 'journalists' at the Graun.
I really, really need a "smug, I told you so" smilie at this point. Sparrow, despite his repeated denials of a personal beef against Miliband or a concerted editorial policy to undermine Ed, has done this kind of thing too many times for it to be a coincidence; it has certainly put paid to any wavering I may have had in my decision to give up posting at the Guardian. It used to be a quality paper, just another right wing rag now.

The Guardians coverage is hysterical. Zero substance, yet it is written up like a mass revolt.
The Indy coverage pretty much says Meh halfway down the page.

That was quick
Edit: well I am a wazzock... Got the right one, now...
This time, I'm gonna be stronger I'm not giving in...
Anyone who went for an afternoon nap and woke to read the Guardians coverage would be justified in thinking what the fuck has happened. The answer, not a bloody lot, actually. Wankers, the lot of them, get back to their Xmas ads and articles about socks that cost 495 quid a pair, the rag is becoming a parody of itself.

Yep, you & TE just nailed my feelings pretty well! I've switched to the Beano, a much more insightful read.
On a literary note, I just finished reading "Harry's Last Stand" today; if I win the Euro tomorrow I will have a copy of that book sent to every household in the land!! And, frankly, if Harry Leslie Smith gives Ed the thumbs up, that should be good enough for anybody!!

Still at it -"meltdown"
Didn't Ed M recently say something about abolishing the House of Lords? Maybe the ramifications and the fact that Ed could possibly get the majority to do it has started to sink in. No more crony appointments in return for services rendered....
