This was certainly not a small mistake.
Dean Archer was on C4 news. He said that he would accept an apology from Shapps - face to face, nothing less.

:popcorn:
Yeah,but which face?

I have to agree with you. The sound raises the hair on the back of my neck.
One of the great sounds of spring in these parts.

BUT I love even more the return of the lapwings to the fringes of the moors. Their mating flights are a joy to watch.

Under no circumstances, in no situation, on pain of torture or worse, would I ever suggest that certain bloggers have evidence that a person who is called Michael Green was ever known to carry on with his business activities as recently as 2012.

No. I really really wouldn't.

So there.

If you're talking about Randeep's article, they've obliterated the lot. People are complaining about it on the other threads.

I usually like chickens.....I wonder if the G has caught chicken-ness from OGRFG? There's a lot of it about.

I don't watch breakfast telly, but apparently Leanne Wood was on the ITV version this morning.
The first question she was asked is whether being in politics left her enough time for her family.

She said - "You wouldn't ask a man that".

Go, girl!

Allow me to dissect the post for you.

1. Charlotte wants us all to know how important she is, so she talks a lot about how much work she does with jolly important people.
2. Charlotte wants us all to know how really really hard people like her actually work when they do committees and stuff.
3. Charlotte thinks that someone else (clerks) could have sorted out which Labour amendments to the report should be allowed.
4. Charlotte thinks the Labour person who wanted the amendments doesn't know what they actually want at all. (They do)
5. Charlotte writes all this stuff on Conservative Home calling upon Labour politicians to sort all this out. An obvious choice.
6. Charlotte tells us that the NHS is not being privatised, there are no charges, and TTIP will not affect the NHS.

Charlotte is very very clever and very very hardworking and now we all know this we must listen to what she says. To Labour.

Now that I have clarified matters for you, dear Paul, I claim my prize.

I would prefer the year on a Greek Island (where I have been told they have a socialist government) rather than the spa voucher.

Thank you.

PS - Paul -

I'm going to bed. I'm exhausted. I will retire, pale but proud, knowing that my efforts to translate toptotty-speak were not wasted.

I am looking forward to seeing what my prize is in the morning. I don't suppose it'll be the Greek Island thing.

Whatever it is, I do not want the Michael Green series "Stinking Rich" Nos. 1 to 3.
I've got those already.
That's why I'm on benefits.

Yes. But when has that ever stopped anyone? My election day record has, for a very long time now, been 'Wake Up' - a 12" single/EP released as a Miners support piece, with

The Redskins - Levi Stubbs' Tears
Billy Bragg - A Change is Going to Come
The Neurotics (sometimes the Newtown Neurotics) - This Fragile Life
Atilla the Stockbroker - 40 Years
Kevin Saisey - All Smiles
Billy and Atilla and The Neurotics - Garageband

Hello Utopiandreams - I know this isn't what you mean, but I'd add as well don't mistake a group of people who've been talking to each other here for over a year as tribal or cliquey - it's just what forums are like. So long as everyone takes their turn to make the tea and refill the biscuit tin all is well.

But I'd avoid the Elk ice cream.

Absolutely. The Tory spin that this was a minor technical infringement and a witchhunt by hypocritical business-hating lefties really has to be skewered.
Well, who'd have thunk it, looks like the Telegraph are on skewering duties this week.

My prediction, if there is a PMQs this week Michael Green will be sacked that morning.

Threatening the constituent with the law for telling the truth is toxic, and Miliband will absolutely nail Cameron to the wall on that.

The trouble with you lot is that you are all Corvidist. :(

;) :D
I'm a committed corvidophile, myself. Lived with a jackdaw for a while – he was very chatty and affectionate. Why aren't they on the list? And Ravens, given their legendary status?

But the short-list is what the short-list is and I'm torn between Red Kite, Barn Owl, and Kingfisher.
Hastily adds: not 'torn between' in the literal sense, that could be painful and messy ;)

Dithered but finally decided to post this here rather than start a new day with it.
@ShaunLintern: Spire Healthcare has been given planning permission to develop a £60m hospital in Tollerton, South Nottingham
Current plans for Spire Nottingham are for a contemporary and leading edge facility, housing the latest in medical technology and equipped for the most complex surgeries. Spire intends that its services will be open to all - including those patients funded by the NHS.

Current plans for the hospital include:

· 56 patient beds;
· a large outpatient area with 20 consulting rooms;
· an oncology suite of six treatment cubicles and sensory garden;
· three laminar flow/laparoscopic theatres and a hybrid theatre/catheter lab;
· a JAG compliant endoscopy suite;
· a six bedded Critical Care Unit;
· a fixed MRI and CT facility;
· an enhanced physiotherapy facility with access to outside exercise area.
More info here:

http://www.investegate.co.uk/spire-heal ... 37255285H/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Work is due to begin on the development later this year, with completion anticipated in late 2016 or early 2017 – and it will be Spire Healthcare's 40th hospital.

Although it will be private, around 10 per cent of its patients would be NHS referrals.

Clearly, the private healthcare market in the UK is expected to continue its growth phase – with 10%'s-worth of, er, cross-fertilisation from the NHS in hips and knees. Nice and handy for the airport, if you can get a slot for your private plane. Hope it's going to be very heavily soundproofed – although you can't soundproof the outdoor exercise area attached to the physio department. Nah, if I were going to pay for the enjoyment of a private hospital I wouldn't want to be bang next door to an airport. I'd want somewhere well away from commercial flight-paths and pollution – I can get that at home ;)

Note: I don't begrudge people (NHS patients) getting their knees and hips done as soon as possible – nor oncology patients. I just wish the funding and facilities and staff and equipment were being provided within the NHS, rather than contributing to the profits of private hospital groups.
