Virgin will also run the urgent care facility at Paulton community hospital, which is 12 miles from Bath, and subcontract a number of other services to other providers, including the provision of dementia and end of life care and a “hospital from home” service for recently discharged patients.
That's my local community hospital. It was earmarked for closure at one point several years ago but we managed to hang onto it. There's a maternity unit (run by the Royal United Hospital in Bath), a minor injuries unit (the bit Virgin are taking control of I presume) and some hospital beds for recuperation care. There's a local charity shop that supports the hospital with continual fundraising for equipment etc. Quite how people will feel about donating when a profit-making company is controlling the asset to which they are financially contributing to remains to be seen, but I know I'm not especially keen on the idea. It changes the whole relationship between the community and their hospital in ways I suspect many people have not even started to consider.

I can't decide which way Donald Trump will go re Nigel Farage. Will he (DT) blow him (NF) out? Will Nigel Farage get some minor and non-influential post - with a large pay-cheque, naturally? Will Donald Trump tell Theresa May that she has to use Nigel Farage as her conduit to the US if she wants to get anywhere? If it's the last option, I wonder what Theresa May's justification for accepting (as she would) such a condition.
