At last we don’t have to worry about Brussels not actually forcing us to iron our spring onions or make us play cricket with a triangular ball, or classify Wiltshire as an insect or ensure babysitters are divided equally between Jihadists and non-Jihadists to avoid discrimination.

Hillsborough.

I think Nick Hornby captured the horror well.

If you stood at football in that era you'll have been in a crush. You'll remember being in a crowd where it was hard to breathe, or being a child lifted off your feet by the crowd, or being pressed against a barrier so you couldn't move (at least if you went to big games as I did). We laughed about it.

Then people died.

I think it might have been Rentool - maybe - but I did see a tweet from one of them calling for his return. I didn't take it literally, more a call for help, in a "Oh someone please" sort of way after more bad polling.

Maybe as a joke, but it has been obvious for 7 years he isn't coming back ever. Claiming that people seriously think he could is tilting at windmills. Nobody thinks that. The remaining Bitterite MPs are all looking for jobs elsewhere before the 2020 rush. They're trying to get out not come back.

Now you might say that is part of the problem. No guts for the fight, unlike Corbyn and McDonnell who spent 40 years in the wilderness. But I wouldn't (and didn't) stay. The Blairites have gone elsewhere.
