Mélenchon's team urge 'not one vote for Le Pen' but stop short of backing Macron

Defeated hard-left candidate will consult with supporters on whether they should abstain, cast a blank vote or vote for Macron on 7 May (Guardian)
Seems fair enough as a holding position.

Dugher wants Rachel Reeves to be Labour's next leader.

Does that excite you?

And when it does will Labour have 150, 120 or 100 MPs.

Boring I can live with, stupid self harming clusterfuck is more annoying.

Anybody outside the far left will do (assuming Danczuk doesn't get back as an MP).

I've just been talking to my two local Labour councillors. They've been going round reminding Labour supporters about the Metro Mayor vote next week. I don't know if there have been people leaving locally, but they seemed ever so pleased I was still a member. Which I am. I gave myself until the end of March to decide and here I still am. And I can't leave now cos I said I'd put a poster up :) Brexit has been a bitch but Jeremy Hunt's gormless mug this morning had the instant and totally overwhelming effect of making me want to go out and vote Labour. On multiple occasions.

I think saying he won't attend debates if she won't is a terrible, terrible idea. With her not there, empty chair or not, then if the others turn on him he can make it clear that he's the one actually fighting the government. If not they can all tear into the absent tories. If he doesn't turn up the rest of them will and that's when they will all be claiming to be the only opposition in their part of the world, with nobody to reply for Labour.

Terrible idea.

Also cut corporation tax from 35% to 15% and abolish inheritance tax. It's a blatant and ridiculous giveaway to the wealthy and, like with Reagan/Bush and then Clinton, it will cost a future Democrat president trillions to put it right.
