The question that needs answering is why was this product not taken off the market (and the building it has covered) as soon as the problems with it were identified? It is used internationally.

Cladding in London high-rise fire also blamed for 2014 Melbourne blaze
A fire at the Lacrosse building in Melbourne’s Docklands in 2014 is strikingly similar to London blaze as investigations point to cladding used in buildings
"There have been reports of fires involving aluminium cladding in residential towers in France, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea and the US."

Has the position now changed from this -
Nick Hurd, the fire minister, is going to speak to MPs in Westminster Hall at 1.30pm about the Grenfell Tower fire.

But it is not a proceeding of parliament, and it will not be televised. I’m heading off there now to cover it in person. I will be blogging about it in the Grenfell Tower blog. (Politics Live, Guardian)

I was going to wonder out loud here when this would start. I then thought it was:

a) probably a flight of fancy;

b) in incredibly bad taste; and

c) a bit melodramatic.

I should have known better.

Evening all

One party looks like a Government and one doesn't....

All the useful interventions today have come from one side....and it isn't the Tories!

Confidence doesn't half make a difference!

Europe used to have a fearful respect of the Tories. But those days have long since passed. Now, the weakened party may have accidentally killed off Brexit -- a pet project that most party leaders didn't want in the first place.
From that Europe (and yet miraculously in English).

So...QT tonight.
David Dimbleby chairs topical debate from Coventry. On the panel are Conservative defence minister Tobias Ellwood, Labour's shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry, Lib Dem former health minister Norman Lamb, co-founder of the Conservative Woman website Laura Perrins, and Rob Delaney, comedian, writer and star of the sitcom Catastrophe.
Nope.

Some of the articles up there this week about Labour brainwashing kids - including an amazing one on nurseries! - have been deranged. Real whiny "why doesn't anyone like us?" stuff.
