Hardly Ellie Mae's fault.

You have clearly missed AbiWilks mentions resembling a bomb site. Again :wall:

I don't follow any of these characters. I didn't know who Kriss, or who his girlfriend was, until it started coming up on twitter.

What he, and Myers, seem to have in common is not just appalling behaviour, but the most brazen hypocrisy in relation to what they write.

The whole #metoo thing has been rather eye opening for me. A darker world than I had thought.

I still don't know who his girlfriend is?

(its not AW btw, her partner is a FT journalist)

Your points are generally well made though, this has been a real eye opener for many of us. And not in a good way.

OIC......

Her abrupt taking leave of Twitter a week ago maybe becomes more explicable then.

She [Theresa May] may be overthrown by Christmas, some observers warn, but the Tories will never call an election, letting Labour grown-ups take over negotiations.

The EU knows it; we know it; the polls show it – the Tories would choose someone worse. I can remember no worse time in politics, left praying that this dumbly clumsy woman clings on, just to hold off her no-deal headbangers.
Very plausible, unfortunately.

Indeed in responding to Labour’s motion yesterday, the Work and Pensions Secretary told MPs that ‘we have to remember that a waiting period is fundamental to the structure of UC, which pays people monthly, mirroring the world of work’. Of course that begs the question: how many workers have to wait six weeks for their first wages?
Well quite.
Three weeks in arrears, one week in advance is the norm for a monthly salary, isn't it? So to mirror the world of work, UC claimants should wait three weeks. So not designed to mirror the world of work at all.

It's utter bollox.UC is not a never been in work benefit.I would also point out it is the "other monies may be available" when waiting for any possible extra costs allowance(s),months away at best.

What's this "the six week delay in UC is to give claimants an idea of what the job market is like" bollix, anyway?

I can't recall having to wait 6 weeks to get paid after starting *any* of my jobs :?:

Evening all.

I see that parents and teachers for Excellence managed to persuade a government minister to give a speech at one of their events - about the curriculum this time. Fancy that...

And, of course, the 2007 curriculum comes in for its usual kicking.

https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/ ... education
The way the curriculum is discussed in this country has changed dramatically over the last 10 years. In 2007, the previous government launched a national curriculum that had been stripped of knowledge content in favour of skills.
How on earth anyone takes this clown seriously when he comes out with the most almighty guff is beyond me. But they lap it up.

Incidentally, if our pupils weren't being taught knowledge up to the time of the new National Curriculum, I wonder how they managed to get some great results in their SATs?

Learning all those skills I guess...

Incidentally the second, I notice that the pamphlet that they were promoting

http://parentsandteachers.org.uk/applic ... _FINAL.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

...has a foreward by Leora Cruddas. I knew the name but couldn't recall what she did.

https://www.newschoolsnetwork.org/about ... ra-cruddas" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Leora Cruddas is the CEO of Freedom and Autonomy for Schools (FASNA), which aims to promote and secure autonomy for schools and evidence its success.
They are very pro-academies and very "Give us the money. Now bugger off and leave us alone" anti-accountability people.

Shocked etc...

I notice that Suella "I'm chair of governors at a wonderful free school dontcha know" Fernandes didn't bother about getting back on the Edu select committee.

Too much like hard work and couldn't get as many plugs in for Michaela as she wanted I expect.
