Is it me or are the MPs [and it sounds as if there are plenty of them in the chamber] far quieter and more respectful than the bear garden we're forced to see and listen to now?

I thought that too Ohso, not much hectoring or barracking going on. A lot of laughter from the Labour benches but none of the childish guffaws or trying to shout over whoever was speaking as is the way now.

Just reading his Wiki entry.
''Four Labour MPs who defected to the SDP in early 1981 said they voted against Healey to land the Labour Party with an unelectable left-wing leader and so help their newly established party.[21]''
Would that have included Sellout Shirley ? She of the oh-so-high principles ?

She wasn't in the HoC at the time.
At least one then Labour but soon to be SDP MP (the late Neville Sandelson) more or less admitted to doing that, and there are a few others who are strong suspects.

Thanks Anatoly. I lived through it, should be able to remember it but can't.
Interesting to see the ages of the leadership contenders in 1980.
Healey 63, Foot 67, Shore 56, Silkin 57.
Apart from Corbyn at 66, this year's contenders were all well under 50.
Cooper 47, Kendall 44, Burnham 46.

The fridge with vaccines clip reminded me of the first GP practice I worked at.
We had a little fridge like that to store vaccines, urine & stool samples if they missed that day's collection, and our sandwiches and milk for tea & coffee.
When we had a practice inspection the milk and food was taken out and put in a cupboard for the duration.

Okay, I know I said I wouldn't mention it again but just to clarify I'll add it here.
I completely understand what you mean because part of my fascination of her beauty puzzles me.

JC wants politeness and no personal abuse, but I reckon pig snouts and oinking will be much in evidence tomorrow. I'm having a bit of trouble emulating Corbyn.
I got taken to task elsewhere for linking the story about the SNP MP and the allegations about mortgages and cash payments.
Apparently we should not be highlighting SNP embarrassments and act in the spirit of Corbyn's new solidarity politics. All for the cause of a progressive alliance. As if the SNP are going to quit their tribalism.

Does the difficult and asks others do the same.
It's hard, consensus-building.
