Well said, cJA. It would appear SH thinks that voting for a party entails supporting everything they say.

I assume, as a Green voter, that he supports:
a wealth tax on the top 1%
a Robin Hood Tax on the banks
banning fracking, phasing out coal power stations and no new nuclear power stations
scrapping of university tuition fees
capping of rent for housing
re-nationalisation of the railways
introduction of a Citizens Income

I look forward to reading his arguments in support of all of these, rather than his 2 topics of choice - Jeremy Corbyn and how useless Labour are on Brexit.

He did not unveil a plan for a maximum wage. I know you have no experience of hearing new ideas from politicians so your listening skills are a little rusty, but he expressed an interest in the idea of a maximum wage.

SH can obviously vote for any party he likes, for any reason he likes but when you start urging people to vote for a particular party then you need to support that party on more than 1 issue, no matter how important that 1 issue is.

To do otherwise would display an astonishing level of insincerity.

Citizen's Income was in the Green manifesto for the 2015 GE, just something that would not be implemented in that 1st parliament.

I also have certain issues with terrorism that, for me personally, mean that I can't vote for Labour with Corbyn and McDonnell in the leadership. That means the Greens.

Thanks very much for this 55Degrees. It's the best takedown of the G on this I've read and I can point people to it who ask why I don't read that rag anymore.

What made the newspaper feel so claustrophobic was that most of these wrote essentially the same column, repeatedly. There was almost theological agreement around a shared article of faith.

Public investment generally might be a problem. Or they could just outsource the low paid, if they haven't done that already.

The entire piece does seem to omit the fact that the concerns of those critical of the current leader do seem to have been vindicated.

The Graun has fed the views that led to Corbyn for years. If it wasn't so sad, there would be a certain amount of schadenfreude to be had at the expense of some of its more silly voice of the Blair, Brown and Miliband years.

Huge Crossrail contractor, Costain Skanska, had the CEO earning £633k 8 years ago. That's a bit more than 20 times the lowest.

I'd venture the other contractors are much the same.

I'd rather we got the darned railway built efficiently, myself.

However clumsy his manner, the Labour leader is right: pay at the top is an outrage

The minimum wage was once branded by the Conservatives as a job-destroyer. It wasn’t. The living wage took decades to attain the acceptance it enjoys today. There’s no reason pay ratios can’t do the same. But it will take time, well-ordered evidence and political strategy. Having got the ball rolling, Mr Corbyn should run with it.
