. Dawn Butler came in and then she lost her seat and she had to fight to get back in. Dawn’s journey was hard
That was a lot to do with her having a big expenses scandal.

Yeah. She seems OK otherwise. But she should have stood down, as McNulty at least did.

Kate Osamor Warns Labour Has Neglected Its Heartlands And There Are No Safe Seats Anymore
I wish they'd drop this stuff, it sounds incredibly arrogant, as if she who's been around 5 minutes knows better than everybody else. It's part of the Copeland alibi too, and it's dishonest. Plenty of places have huge majorities- like, er, her own seat.

She looks like a hack to me.

This also sounds dreadful.
Addressing Jones directly, Osamor was clear: “You are used to writing. And commentating. And reading. And looking through a lense. This is my reality. And I am used to it. And I know it takes time for things to work. It may take many years for people to accept that Jeremy wants to say something different on behalf of the majority.”
"This is my reality" is a meme. As is "It may take many years".

It was those trousers. Dead giveaway. In an otherwise rational piece, he failed to mention them. Odd that.

Britain’s path to preeminence in the past followed our break with Catholicism and embrace of the Reformation. We pursued a global, maritime, buccaneering, individualistic, liberal destiny — the spirit of our capitalism was infused with a very Protestant ethic. Now that we are once more freeing ourselves from a conformist Continent to make our own way in the world the question of whether we need to be more radical to maximise opportunities or more cautious to reassure and protect is central to our politics.
Gove's popularity at The Telegraph may not be what it was.

As soon as I saw the second guy (Roger) I realised I'd seen his pic from when I used to post at the DT - he had but one interest and used to make every conversation turn to ethno-nationalism. An utter loon.
If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.
