Her problem is that she'll be labelled a Blairite again. Possible the PLP could just impose her (as they did with Brown) but it is pretty clear she is the de facto leader of the PLP. She is much more able than Starmer, IMO, who is a myth.

The softer alternative, more acceptable to the membership, would be Lisa Nandy. I've warmed to her, and I think she could perform the Kinnock role.

That Andy "riots on the streets, posh coffee" Burnham, beat Cooper in 2015 seemed extraordinary to me at the time, and looks ridiculous now, but may indicate that candidates like Cooper and Nandy can't win if opposed.

Both of them are petulant spiteful brats who have absented themselves from the front bench in a gigantic sulk. Cooper, let us not forget, was the brain behind the murderous WCA regime: she has innocent blood on her hands.

Pretty sure Starmer exists.
Cooper's ,far from your binary thing and your (granted far from the only one)and your easy fit description of members is,(of course I can only go by still being a member and meeting them regularly and other such irrelevancies)is somewhat way off,"problem",as far as I am,and not insignificant others is the part she played, not least in steadfast refusal to listen to or even acknowledge concerns with WCA-granted some will posit that through the blairite thing,I don't,pure neglect.

I see. So presumably you'd favour someone prepared to serve? Starmer or Long-Bailey being the only plausible ones I guess. The latter won't get the nominations, and I suspect the former won't stand as the PLP share my view of him.

Labour has a leader and there is a general election to fight. I think this is a deliberate, but pointless, distraction from discussing policies and the election because all you care about is slagging off Jeremy Corbyn and Labour. You and others are, frankly, unhealthily obsessed with the man. It is a typical troll tactic to start flame wars, not that sophisticated but still deliberately divisive.

Early indication from Bolton there is life after May, and not that impressed with visit. (Not the source others may have seen, but there are other constituencies in Bolton that want rid too.)

Sweeping in with a limo motorcade might not be the best kind of electioneering after all.

From Sparrow and Phipps
That didn’t take long. Earlier I said that, if Labour were to offer voters a second referendum on Brexit, Theresa May
“would immediately accuse [Jeremy] Corbyn of collaborating with what the Daily Mail calls the Brexit ‘saboteurs’.”
I apologise; I was wrong. Labour have merely hinted that they might offer a second referendum, by refusing to rule
it out (see 12.11pm), and the Tories are running that attack line anyway.

Commenting on Corbyn’s refusal to rule out a second Brexit referendum, Patrick McLoughlin, [Tory] party chairman:

"This is yet more evidence of chaos from Jeremy Corbyn and Labour."

(my emphasis)

No, it really isn't.
Tories are in some pretty sh** that's for sure and certain
