West Midlands, here, sun comes out then retreats
Days are getting longer so I can see the changing sky for hours during daytime
I'm not able to see many stars in the sky, even when it's clear
that's a sad thing, 'light pollution', I think it's called

Excellent news - the man's an embarrassment

Labour bans Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk from standing in election

And that stuff about his ex standing was a pile of nonsense too.

Who has predicted under 20% and fewer than 100 seats? Nobody I know of. Sounds like an all too common strawman argument, from a certain regular.

I'm concerned people are currently frightened, anxious, confused and poorly informed. Not voting or voting for the status quo wouldn't be irrational under the circumstances. I think continued Tory government would be disastrous for people and country. I'll do what I can to encourage others to vote Tory government out.

According to these accounts, and public remarks by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the British Government is entirely deluded about what to expect from the talks. Ms May is labouring under the illusion that she has bargaining power and that that power will be greatly enhanced if she wins a landslide victory in her unnecessary and premature general election. That is a blunder almost as historic as David Cameron's when he pledged an in/out referendum. It will lead to national disaster.

Well I never...

In praise of Jeremy Corbyn’s campaign

https://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2017/05/i ... campaign/#
And love him or hate him, there’s no denying that Corbyn has taken the snap election announcement in his stride. In the past couple of weeks, he has been to Aviemore to champion the unions and a £10 minimum wage, to Cardiff to attack ‘cosy’ tax rates, and to Harlow to promise the construction of a million new homes in 5 years. Meanwhile Theresa May has been on a carefully controlled tour of target seats, executed with submarine-like stealth. The stage management became palpable when she was caught on camera saying ‘I’m pleased to come to… err… this particular town…’, suggesting that she didn’t know where exactly she was.
If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

If so, I think that is ridiculous.

Labour's vote share should hold up reasonably well. 28% or so at a guess. In seat terms it will be less happy as the Ukips vote switching Tory will hurt in terms of seats. An increased Tory majority, but talk of Labour meltdown is ridiculous.

Why?

Because on the substance Labour is correct.

If it weren't led by a clown, Labour might win. but if that were the case, there would be no election.

UK politics is utterly ridiculous.

And my Black eyed susans are doing fine. Close to the house for now, to guard against frost. I bought 3 colours, £2.29 each from Lidl. I tremendous success last year, and so fingers crossed.

My dahlia bulbs are now looking quite good too, as are my sweet pea seedlings,, so I hope the weather gets a bit warmer soon.
