Universal Credit: different earning patterns and your payments

Just to counter (even if working as it should) the simplification nonsense, complexification and that ignores the interactions with outside UC.

Railways and tuition fees to be added to the manifesto. Good.

This is what is known in finance as chucking the kitchen sink into your write off.

Thing is Labour won't win on leadership or financial credibility anyway. It might as well just go for it. If nothing else May will have to answer questions about why this is a worse idea than fox hunting and more cuts. It might make some of her disability cuts look mean spirited.

Nationalising the railways is a bit pointless, but on the whole popular and a headline. People don't care about vast sums of borrowing anyway nobody knows what a billion is.

Maybe back to 1973 is the vision, still more of one than TM has.

Evening all.

Had a long day in the library getting some local history stuff sorted - a lot makes sense now but it's a lot of checking one thing against t'other to get to the answer.

This £250bn infrastructure spending...is that additional money or part of the £460bn which is already in the forecasts for the next 5 years according to the OBR?

If it is only £250bn then that means they're actually cutting spending by £200bn.
If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

Actually the vision is this.

You voted for Brexit to change things.

You could vote for more of the same and endlessly bang on about Brexit, Boris and stables.

Or you could do this and actually shake things up.

At this stage I don't think we know, and actually I am not even sure it is worth arguing the detail. Adopt a Vote Leave approach invent stuff and be hopelessly optimistic. Talk about change lots.

"cunt", "troll", "Tory". "Dim and stupid" is quite mild.

Though why you think that convinces anyone I don't know.

I do know that some prefer a board with no disagreement at all, and lots of back slapping banter about how evil the Tories are (for proof I can give you a link), but it just isn't interesting.

Indeed, it is sad, showing how intellectually un-selfconfident the left has become, unable to tolerate even mild dissent.

Highlighting misanthropic Governmental policies and showing solidarity with fellow citizens;sharing information and channels of support which may be their only access to,may very well be uninteresting to you, most people would view it otherwise.

Quite. There never was any sound economic reason for continuously lowering the CT rate - the FT said it was a bad idea back in 2010.

Have to say reading of IDS comment on low value, low skill 'unwanted' people, put me right back into eugenicist/racist territory, actually isn't that what we have now co existing with what we assume to be reasonable people.

I mean, ffs, what exactly is a 'low value person'?

I am still enquiring about boats.....

Not the worst leak to suffer: Lab get to have policies floated, have an option to drop them and we can't press on detail, 'cos it's a leak.
The thought occurred to me that it might have been deliberate just to see the reaction and then come back with what they intended all the time.
