Re those northern leave voting areas, if they vote Labour, they can have Brexit and an end to the worst of austerity. The hard-liners won't buy that, but the more moderate could.

I still don't know whether Labour were morally right to tie themselves to the A50 mast, but there's at least a possibility that it was a smart electoral move.

Anecdotal evidence (I know) suggests that many "remain" voters who were hacked off with Corbyn over Brexit, several thinking of going LibDem, have been won over during the campaign.

(of course, the yellow team flatlining in the polls also backs this up)

Earlier we reported that Ofcom was considering 38 complaints from viewers who thought Jeremy Paxman’s interview with Jeremy Corbyn on Monday night was biased against the Labour leader. (See 1.06pm.)

It did not take them long. It has assess[sic] the complaints, and decided that there are no grounds to investigate any potential breach of the UK broadcasting code. (Politics Live, Guardian)

The lack of any LibDem surge suggests not?
There could be a lot of surprises come 9 June. Who has a clue? Ashcroft did polling in the marginals in 2015 but that's not happening this time AFAIK.
Most likely we'll have a new set of marginals afterwards, nobody knows anything.

Well I'm one of them, minus the "thinking of going Lib Dem" bit.

Helps that May might as well have "warning from history" printed on her blouse, and that I'm infinitely more hacked off with our press, broadcasters and various right-wing gobshites in and outside Parliament than I ever have been with Corbyn.

The FT has come out for the Tories, according to the G live blog:

The Financial Times, which is non-partisan, leans more to the right than the left, but has backed Labour at some elections in the past, has published its election editorial. And it is backing the Conservatives - but with some reservations.

Went to see Corbyn today in Reading East rally and was pretty impressed. You may recall that I expressed reservations a week or so ago but hoped that his unassuming style would win over voters. The last few days have moved me into the "he's really quite good" camp. Certainly better than my MP (Mrs May). Will he (we) win? I still have my doubts, but he'll give 'em a run for their money!

PS two more labour members today from among the hangers-on - wife and daughter! All down to JC.
