Now, I agree she isn't necessarily gone PERMANENTLY - but that's not what I said. For now, there is a vacancy.

As for Nandy she called it wrong last year - should have returned after Jez's second leadership win like Starmer/Champion/Healey et al did. Flirted a bit unwisely with Blue Labour stuff as well - including some silly conference that featured that racist cabbie.

She was apparently quite generous to Corbyn on election night though - so we'll see.
Of course. She then announced she'd be returning soon to the fray. You must have missed that.

I think she's hopeless, but she's one of the Campaign group, and they're the only ones trusted.

Starmer miscalculated. His agenda was quite clear.

The deal between Northern Ireland’s Democratic Unionist Party and the Tories to keep Theresa May in Downing Street is likely to come down to hard cash — and the DUP’s “have cake and eat it” attitude to Brexit.

The party, whose leader Arlene Foster flew to London Tuesday for talks with May, campaigned for Brexit in last year’s referendum and its members often portrayed as hard Brexiteers. But like the Tories, the party is split on the issue and its main goal will be to maintain essentially the same border arrangements with the Republic of Ireland to the south and the rest of the U.K.

Yes this really is the end of Tory austerity – because it was never about economics in the first place
Reducing the UK’s deficit was a necessity. Cutting it without regard for the state of the overall economy was unscientific stupidity if not wanton vandalism

This comes under the heading of strong and stable government. And certain.

Ministers leave UK Brexit department in sign of tension with May

https://www.ft.com/content/273fb412-503 ... 19572361bb
George Bridges, who was in charge of pushing Brexit legislation through parliament, quit on Tuesday after falling out with Theresa May, the prime minister.

According to people close to Lord Bridges, an EU advocate, he had become frustrated with the lack of consultation between Downing Street and the Department for Exiting the EU (Dexeu).

“Bridges is said to have quit on policy grounds, convinced Brexit couldn’t work,” said one Whitehall figure. “There is some disarray.”
Never mind, I'm sure everything will go swimmingly...

I literally just sat down with a cup of tea and was catching up with comments as you typed.

It's been a bit "school run, shop, back for cooker delivery, opticians, make tea, feed guinea pigs, cup of tea, wash up, kids in shower, supper, bed, start again" the last couple of days!
