What a shambles the Tories are. Imagine if the vote were next week?

I think it may be a while before we have another election? Why.

In 1974 we had two elections because by October Wilson thought, rightly, he'd get a majority by calling one. The Tories are now behind, and will be for a long time.

Who have they got? Hammond? I bet most Tory MPs would take Cameron back.

Morning.

Further to the above:

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This while Sun hacks impersonate victims' relatives, the Mail runs a dog-whistle story about an Ethiopian's fridge, and the Sun goes with the contemptible spin "Furious residents confront Mayor... May promises disaster probe" on its front page.

The right wing media really are something aren't they?

The Express pretty much mays the blame at Brussels' door. The Sun is deflecting onto Khan.

And the Mail all the above plus publicising the identity of the man who "started" the fire.

Except that I couldn't resist this:
So the Queen’s Speech might include a bill to remove the dinosaur skeletons from the Natural History Museum, as they didn’t exist anyway, and be replaced by a fascinating display of flutes.

And for NOC:
The Queen’s Speech has been delayed two days while the agreement is reached, but this seems reasonable, as I’m sure the Tories and their newspapers would be just as understanding if the Labour Party ever delayed a Queen’s Speech, so it could organise an agreement with Sinn Fein.

The difference between the BBC and other news channels has become even more evident since the GE than it was before.

Cameron basically transformed them into the state (rather than national) broadcaster.

Philip Hammond to prioritise economic prosperity in Brexit talks
The government - well, such as it is - have decided that things have reached the point where is it necessary to explain that they are at least trying to do what they think is right. "We did think about accepting the fact that in prioritising leaving the EU we were of necessity prioritising 'we just don't like them' patriotism, feet and inches and being allowed to ignore all of that health and safety nonsense but we have decided that we should tell people that we would like the outcome of this to be a good idea too."
