Just to repeat from last night. Jeremy Corbyn will be at Glastonbury, at 4pm this afternoon. He's introducing Run the Jewels, who are an abrasive, politically minded, hip-hop duo.

There's a good video of Killer Mike (one half of the duo) talking to Stephen Colbert about political activism: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is one of their songs, to get a flavour:

Marina Hyde had a short column about that, which was poor by her standard. This, however is much, much better: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfr ... nservative" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Broadcasters who’ve spent a year being told Andrea Leadsom can’t come to the phone because she’s trapped under something heavy are now able to put her on the telly several times a day. Leadsom’s media appearances are only outstripped by those of Iain Duncan Smith, who has emerged from wherever the Tories hid him, and is now peddling a brilliantly knowing form of self-satire. At least, I think that’s what happening. There’s no other reasonable explanation for a man who’d be intellectually outgunned by any of the runners at Royal Ascot this week deciding to launch an attack on “silly people in the Conservative party with big mouths and small brains”.

One for the "How out of touch with ordinary people can I make this?" file

Majority of the replies I've seen are of the "Yes, yes that is precisely what we do"...

She said: “It would be helpful if broadcasters were willing to be a bit patriotic. The country took a decision, this government is determined to deliver on that decision.”
Try as I might I still refute the notion that the country did anything more than express a view on one of a random wish list of things that are mutually exclusive with other things it also wants. Thanks to decades of the British press we are fundamentally politically and socially illiterate.

Is it reasonable to assume that Run the Jewels just happened to be on at the most convenient time for JC? He'd probably never heard of them either. :D
