Morning.

I just wanted to say that "I apologise for any offence caused" is one of the most nauseating, insincere phrases in modern English and it should be called out at every possible opportunity.

I misspoke. It was not my intention to insult. I was overtired, I'm a hard working MP. Lessons have been learnt. Let's move on.

It would appear that a lot of the press think that there's nothing to report and move on from.

I think Crosby is utterly deluded here, hope that's not wishful thinking.

"All the evidence I’ve seen, is that, if another referendum were to be held now, more people would vote to leave the EU now than in the referendum,” he said.

Speaking at a business lunch in Sydney on Tuesday, Crosby attempted to explain the phenomenon of Jeremy Corbyn.

“On polling day, over 70% of voters thought the Conservatives were going to win,” Crosby said.

“So they thought we’ll reward [Corbyn] for being prepared to talk about interesting things and shake the system up, but we’ll still have the comfort of having Theresa May as prime minister at the end of the day,” he said.

People like being 'right', on the winning side. The under 25s percentage turnout increase. Crosby ignores these two points and lines up his next GE pitch.

Well, most of the actual evidence recently suggests a move towards remain - though it shouldn't be exaggerated either, things are still pretty close.

I love mince on toast!

Usually eaten when there is some spare mince from the kids' tea and I come in later ;-)

Left over bol might also get the same treatment.... Or chilli

With pfy on this, have been known to have Surplus Bolognese or Chilli on toast, next day, delicious, but just easier than cooking more rice, hardly a 'thing'.
Maybe it's been confused with Beef Dripping on toast?

Cable edging closer to assisting May whilst bashing Corbyn. Good old Lib Dems.

So...the parents and teachers for Excellence are doing everything they can to convince everyone they are, in their own words, a "non-political campaign"

This is from their new director

Ofsted is right - the battle against fake news can be won in the classroom

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/20 ... classroom/
Why? Well, you are less likely to buy into vapour trail conspiracies if your science lessons have covered phase changes for water and the chemical composition of jet fuel. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion or sermons by ISIS-sympathising preachers are going to hold less sway over you if you have a decent grounding in theology, the Abrahamic faiths and the history of the Middle East. And the wild promises of Donald Trump or Jeremy Corbyn can be more rationally analysed if you have been taught the basics of economics or the history of twentieth century Europe and the USA.
OK, maybe you're not trying too hard...and since when were campaign promises "fake news"?

I asked, but with predictably no response, whether they'd campaigned against grammar schools that were in the Tory manifesto given the evidence against them.

I'm not sure that installing Roger Scruton as their President was that 'non-political' either...

He wrote an article for The Spectator that was a "poor me - no-one liked me at the University of London" about events that took place three decades ago. The idea that the UoL is anti-knowledge is laughable.
