Even after the general election wiped out the Conservatives’ majority and denied Theresa May the increased negotiating mandate she asked the public for, she has stuck with the mantra that “no deal is better than a bad deal”.
But a Changing Europe report, which brings together experts from politics, law and economics, finds that exiting in March 2019, when the Article 50 process is due to end, without first striking an agreement, would hit everything from the nuclear industry to the security of legal contracts.
Which would (in my view) require that the Changing Europe report had been prepared and carefully communicated to said people of Britain well in advance of the referendum.https://www.architectsjournal.co.uk/new ... ntID=19098" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
May also said that, while immigration could bring ’great benefits, the free movement of people had ‘stretched’ infrastructure, including housing, and that the government must limit the number of those coming into the UK from the European Union.
‘Brexit must mean control of the number of people who come to Britain from Europe, and that is what we will deliver,’ she said.
...
Describing the EU as ‘close friends and neighbours’, May said that the people of Britain voted to leave the European Union with their ‘eyes wide open’.

Arse about facery,a holistic approach is ensuring homes don't get damp in the first place.The truth is we never have adequately invested in accounting for mass decarceration and move to community/care in home facilitation.Indeed they spend most of the time undermining it.No doubt continued pursuance of a medical bed for payment for rent is part of the holistic approach to misanthropy.

Really good article which exposes how little autonomy local councils have. They are often held accountable for decisions taken centrally and under Cameron and Osborne a lot of those decisions centred around devolving responsibility without the accompanying funding.Kensington and Chelsea may be rich, but it has no money for housing
Government policy means Kensington and Chelsea had £274m in reserves, but an £87m housing deficit – and other councils are in the same boat

Wouldn't it be great if he denied something?John Flatley, head of crime statistics and analysis at the Office of National Statistics, said: “The latest figures show the largest annual rise in crimes recorded by the police in a decade. While ongoing improvements to recording practices are driving this volume rise, we believe actual increases in crime are also a factor in a number of categories."

I retweet lots of articles on twitter, normally to thin air, but this particular article from the Huffpost has attracted a lot of attention, so I thought I'd share it here as well:

It's pretty much par for the course for Hopkins, but I guess the actual withdrawal of her bile from publication, by the Mail no less, is possibly new territory.Save the Children has strongly dismissed a claim by Katie Hopkins that she “spent time” with the crew of one of the charity’s ships whilst investigating what she believes is their collusion with people traffickers.
The denial came shortly after the columnist’s first dispatch from Sicily reporting on charities working in the Mediterranean mysteriously disappeared from the internet.

Another one high up on the list is interesting - Afzal Khan (Lab) has one setting rules for the Boundary Commission regarding the number of MPs and size of constituencies. Speculation that it is in effect an attempt to kill off the boundary changes in their present form.

I don't know of anyone apart from that website and the Mail/Telegraph who takes McGovern seriously. I never see anything he's written being tweeted out. And yes, I do follow people who are right of centre too but his output is just one long whine. Most just ignore him.
