To many people’s surprise, the Queen looked delighted at the playing song – ABBA’s disco classic Dancing Queen.
The Queen apparently said quite audibly: “I always try to dance when this song comes on, because I am the Queen, and I like to dance.”

They're not reliable. The ones to look at the EWCS as the methodology has changed for the police reported ones, which aren't designated NS.
This isn't to say the criminal justice system isn't chronically underfunded (especially compared to the ring fenced NHS), it is.
"flatly denied"

The only problem was that the mouse was about an inch off the table...

Just when I think I couldn't be more shocked, I am“In this summer of warm prosecco, I think we in the cabinet would also do well to reflect on those military virtues – loyalty, discipline, cohesion – that might better enable us first to concentrate our fire on a dangerous enemy in reach of Downing Street, somebody who would lower our defences, scrap our deterrent, weaken our response to terrorism,” [defence minister, Michael Fallon] told a reception hosted by the Conservative-supporting Policy Exchange thinktank on Tuesday evening.

Fallon says this to his safe crowd
Ignores a disastrous GE result less than two months ago returning a Tory minority government
Further cultivates incredulous antipathy and alarm over their continued leadership
He said the party needed to “better articulate again the moral case for lower taxation, for honest public financing, for wider opportunity, enterprise and ownership”, calling it the “Conservative case”.

Without Question Time for the summer how am I going to get my weekly fix of chuckling at angry, shouty Brexiters?
I mean online mockery is all well and good but I like to see them shaking with rage with veins protruding on their shallow foreheads at the merest questioning of their lunacy.
Perhaps a few weeks off will cure me of this fetish.

If I were to compare shouty brexiters to a meat product I guess it would have to be that fatty jelly stuff you get in pork pies because it's a small proportion of fucking horribleness that spoils what would otherwise be pleasant experience.

What is decidedly odd is Andrew Lilico's frenzied defence of Hannan's tweets - he really has gone a bit weird lately...Sky'sGoneOut wrote:Oh and I'm sure I must be late to the party in laughing at Daniel Hannan's latest bit of deceitful weirdness.

There are still a lot of people here in Leeds who think all that stuff about their beloved Jimmy Savile is made up. I live not far from where he used to live and indulge his largesse in the local restaurants, and have had a couple of conversations in pubs with locals who were determined that some shadowy force had besmirched his good name. What shadowy force that might be remained a mystery as they weren't able to tell me, or give a good reason why anyone would give a shit about besmirching Savile's memory, but it must be true because he was such a kind and generous man.The former prime minister Gordon Brown has described the forced migration of British children as a bigger sex abuse scandal than that perpetrated by Jimmy Savile.
So it seems all you have to do is treat the locals to free pizzas and you can fondle their kids with impunity.

Would you look at the time. All I'm going to say is I just spent a few days in a posh Cheshire town that now has a new Labour MP (new as in just elected, not that Blair shit). A seat no sane pollster ever gave them a hope of winning. As cynical an old bastard as I am I do now have hope. And for that I must give Corbyn and Momentum their due respect. Grudgingly and with various caveats. I don't want to end up in some kind of perpetual Trotskyist revolution for example. We've got enough of that kind of nonsense from the right at the moment.

I turned blue,I specifically moved here as one of the most unlikely to.I don't blame Corbyn, nor indeed those who suggested I fuck off.out of the party if I don't like or think democracy /MP control should be best served by three people and a whippet called Trevor.Of course that just makes me stay.
