This could be good..
Martin Rowson is a political cartoonist, author and renowned cynic, who sees his work as "visual journalism". His pen has made mincemeat of politics and politicians for many years. Through this series of ink-splattered interviews, he now has the chance to sit down to draw and question the people who have shaped his work and wider life.

I don't underestimate the difficulty in turning this around, but it needs to happen.
The Campaign group in control of the party don't want to turn it around.
We've done this before.

I'm not convinced if there's a big enough core of hardcore leftist "I love 1983" to hold a pro-hard Brexit position by themselves, even if they want to. I am worried about a combination of them and "legitimate concern" types holding it.

Evening

Is it Groundhog Day?

Every couple of weeks we have this 'Labour must come out against Brexit' story in the press (usually brought up by Umunna to be honest) and then Hugo starts frothing about Commies!

Nothing material has changed since the last time we discussed it - apart from the fact the Tories are behaving even more incompetently than normal (but let us forget this and make it all about the Opposition who can actually do diddly squat)

Parliament is not sitting and, as far as I can see, there has been nothing to report from negotiations - all we had were some useless 'position papers' which Starmer laughed at as much of the rest of Europe has done

I must admit if the aim is to get people to change their minds and support him, then Umunna is being spectacularly incompetent (perhaps he should join the Brexit negotiating team) because all it does for me is make me more annoyed and start arguing against him for the sake of it

Brexit will become more and more ridiculous as the results of the negotiations become apparent - we have 14 months or so to have something concrete and so far we have nothing - letting the Tories make a mess of it for another few months and then respond to actual concrete outcomes from the negotiations seems a far more sensible approach in my view than responding to speculation and gossip

What is the most annoying thing you can do on public transport?

Putting your bag on a seat/otherwise blocking access, saying sorry as if it was the bag/luggage's fault.

Leaving a paper, but taking the crossword page/section with you.

Making more noise in the quiet carriage than the people you are chastising to be quiet.

To be meaningful, the building regulations review is going to have to ask whether a market in regulators can ever work.

UK sees boom in number of properties smaller than 37sqm

are permissible because of the so-called "Permitted Development Rights” (PDR), an act introduced by the Government in 2013.

This legislation allows builders and developers to change the use of buildings without the need for planning permission, including changing offices into residential homes.

Now buyers are being warned that purchasing a micro property could leave them with a depreciating asset.

Which? found that these properties don’t necessarily grow in value like their larger counterparts, while some mortgage lenders won’t lend on them at all.
