Janet Morrison, Chief Executive of Independent Age, the older people’s charity, said:
"......The problems in social care are about more than simply finding new bits of money to pump into a system that isn’t fit for purpose. To meet current and future demand, we need to take a radically different approach, recognising the status quo has failed. The Government has promised a consultation on social care, but to work this must set out a long-term vision for health and care that has support from across the political divide. It must also lead to a lasting settlement that better integrates health and social care services and is sustainable over the years to come.”
'Consultation' 'long-term vision' 'lasting settlement'.
How many people would be miserable and uncared for for how many years before we achieved this mythical lasting settlement?
Do something now.

Good morfternoon.

David Davis calls the EU "silly" (Sky TV news).

That's all I caught - so I have no more details at the moment.

First poll taken since Labour's "re-adjustment" on Brexit, and from other findings here it appears quite popular.

One by one the promises and predictions of the Brexiteers are collapsing
If you assume the principle Brexiteers like David Davis knew they were talking crap during the referendum campaign purely to get people to vote leave (and that's a big assumption) it does leave you wondering what exactly, in reality, they hoped to achieve by leaving the EU. Do you think they were expecting the whole EU project to flounder and collapse the minute we started to leave, putting us in a much more favourable position, as a larger economy, than the situation we find ourselves in now? I can't really see any other way they could think leaving would work for us. Or is it all just about protecting the tax havens and the gateway the City of London provides to them?

What do they gain?

Hard to reach any other conclusion than the MPs favouring leave just aren't very bright. Since 2015 I've been unpleasantly surprised by just how rubbish most of our MPs are, and I'd thought my opinion of them couldn't fall any lower.

To be fair there was a large majority of MPs for Remain.

That's ok for Brexit pensioners and people trying to sell them newspapers. But not going to wash for the Tory frontbench.
