What to look out for in May's "eagerly awaited" Florence speech.
I'm not eagerly awaiting it, I'm absolutely dreading it!

The article I link is quite good actually. I like the last line.
It may be time to acknowledge what “Brexit means Brexit” actually means.
Re: Friday 22nd September 2017
From the Graun's lead story.Addressing her remarks to other EU leaders, rather than the commission, May will tell them they all have a “profound sense of responsibility to make this change work smoothly and sensibly” by reaching a deal.
Except she needs to be talking to the Commission, who are dealing with this, and it's been made abundantly clear repeatedly to us that it's our responsibility to make progress on three initial issues, and we're not, and the entire point of the whole fucking thing about leaving is that we don't feel that our future is their responsibility at all.
Our government are delusional. Bringing shame on us all once again, part the nth.

She will admit that “the UK’s departure from the EU is inevitably a difficult process” but will say leaders share “a profound sense of responsibility to make this change work smoothly and sensibly”.

The Independent understands that Brussels officials and negotiators will be staying away from the PM’s critical address, despite chief EU negotiator Michel Barnier already being in Italy to address local politicians the day before.

Be flexible, especially in negotiations
Machiavelli declared that “a prudent ruler cannot, and must not, honour his word when it places him at a disadvantage,” and especially “when the reasons for which he made his promise no longer exist”.

I've not read the whole thread yet, apologies
Before I forget
The pulpit, lectern, whatever it's called, you know, in the front of a church the preacher delivers the sermon?
I was told the one Theresa May intends to stand behind to speechify, is the same one a spiritual authority condemning Galileo for heresy stood behind
edited in an attempt to make it readable
