Some of the usual suspects left looking rather silly by the London business earlier (Stephen Yaxley-Lennon was amongst them, you say? Again??)

"Michael White on how a brief moment of common sense was engulfed by intransigence of the leavers"
Ministers quickly realised they might lose the vote to cross-party mutineers and traitors. As I type they are in full retreat. If they think they can exploit Germany’s relatively gentle government disorder, what do they imagine Barnier and his masters think they can exploit from ours?

Only 11% of the public believe the UK should leave the European Union without a deal, according to a new survey.

The far right tweeters who were desperate that this would be a terrorist attack, who were salivating over it, who are gutted that it isn’t one to advance their twisted agenda - you are wretched, nauseating little vultures.

"It’s also time we stopped thinking of supporting people to live independent lives as a ‘burden’ and instead as a wealth creator. This was the basis on which the NHS was created and it has been shown to work, improving the nation’s health, well-being and productivity. We know that a pennypinching approach to social care funding has disastrously perverse results: it undermines policies for prevention, leaving people’s health and wellbeing to deteriorate at even greater cost to the exchequer (even if we discount the costs to human happiness). We are also seeing its wasteful effects on the NHS, on accident and emergency departments and in so-called bed blocking."

Theresa May can hope for no more than an “aspirational” and “purely political” agreement on free trade before Britain leaves the European Union, according to the U.K.’s former ambassador to the EU.
In a lecture on U.K.-EU relations, Ivan Rogers said that — like David Cameron before her — May would run up against the EU’s attachment to “legal form and processes” and find that “at very best” they would agree to “a political agreement on ambit” about future trade, not a legal agreement.
Don't know what this means, but sounds like we'd be accepting the outline of an agreement, and then enter an indeterminate transition while the actual details were worked out? Would we still then have the option of accepting/rejecting the final agreement (/ disagreement)?
