Some of the best state schools in the country are ones that didn’t exist five years ago. So why don’t the Tories talk about the extraordinary success of free schools? My @telegraph column:-

And why are they the best?
Because the cheerleaders for those schools keep telling us they are!
The fact that no-one can make a judgment when faced with 22,000 schools is irrelevant...

If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

It's all melted here.
All it took was was a few hours of fog.
Ah well, I enjoyed it while it lasted. It was good to be out amongst people who wanted to be there, who'd come out for the snow, who were prepared to share their pleasure of the experience with you.
It's not often such things happen.

As for the nonsense shitstorm that is our apparent brexit strategy I despair.
Apparently we are about to use magic to police the Irish border.
Which would appear to me meaning luring the Tuatha Dé Danann from their groves and barrows and putting on a uniform.
Which could have quite adverse side effects, like marrying a swan or following a fair maid then finding hundreds of years have passed.

Here's an equally excellent one, on 'the strange death of conservatism'.
