I've spent a fair amount of time, on and off, trying to picture Theresa May watching NCIS. You'd think I'd have something better to do, wouldn't you?

I use that word a lot ("coolth"). I feared that it was just me. I don't feel so alienated now . . .

Seems quite inspired actually.

How about imagining Boris Johnson watching Neighbours?

The weather here has been extremely irritating. It's spent all day being horribly humid with lowering black clouds but never actually rained, so I had to water the garden anyway.

Actually I've had that feeling a few times this summer. What it must be like to live in a drought stricken region, to see clouds appear but no rain. It must be truly awful.

I was wondering where all the wee buzzing things flying about my head at night had come from until I went to fill the bird bath outside the window today and it was absolutely full of mosquito larvae. Bit of an 'eeeew gross' moment that was.

Windows wide open and the thermometer says 24 degrees. What with the mosquitoes and humidity I just need a banjo, some moonshine and an alligator that's also my sister.

To answer your (repeated) question - Vauxhall CLP has passed a vote of no confidence in her UNANIMOUSLY.

Ah - thanks! Why on earth would they do a thing like that, I wonder . . .

Edited to add -

And was she (KHoey) present when the vote was taken?

Tonight activists in the Constituency Labour Party will hold a general committee meeting that will see delegates vote on a motion of censure against Hoey. It calls for her to have the Labour whip removed and to be ruled ineligible for future selection. The local Momentum group has passed a similar motion.

Ahead of the meeting, which Hoey will not attend as she is acting as an adviser to the Zimbabwe elections, the MP has shared a report that updates members on her response to the criticisms being levelled at her. She will also send a statement to be read out at the meeting. (Labour List)
https://labourlist.org/2018/07/vauxhall ... kate-hoey/

Well, that answers my lazy (and, actually, rather stupid) question.

Edited to admit to laziness and stupidity.

I somehow doubt that her tweeting an article saying "Don't blame the Tories for a Brexit no deal" helped much.

Well if there's one good thing about our delightful members of parliament going on holiday it's that Question Time is finished for the Summer so I don't have to witness any more gammon faced ranting morons sneering at actual experts or thinking that shouting 'just get on with it' will magically make Brexit a tremendous success.

It's a shame that since the Brexit vote it has been deliberately allowed to descend into essentially a late night politics version of Jeremy Kyle, but unfortunately I guess it's just reflecting politics in this country as a whole. There are still just as many reasonable people in the audience as there are in the country but all the focus these days is given to those who shout the loudest whereas in the past they'd have been told to be quiet and asked to leave if they didn't behave. I liked that past.

She's an absolute disgrace, and not just for the above fuckwittery, oh no this wasn't the first time she got into bed with outright opponents of her party, let's not forget her accepting the chairmanship of the Coutryside Alliance, an organisation which actively targetted Labour MP's in an effort to unseat them. So that's not once but twice she's decided to dump any pretence of party loyalty and solidarity and go off to do her own thing and fuck everyone else.

I have nothing to do with the Labour movement but if anything her continued survival within it only goes to show how foolishly tolerant it can be.

Or at least was.

The top two buttons on Nigel Farage's blazer (above) - what's that supposed to be about?

Sorry forgot to mention the reason she was offered the Chairmanship of the Coutryside Alliance was because she supports fox hunting.

She's an Ulster Unionist and they do like their tradition. As long as it's English...or Dutch.

I suspect his jacket has evolved to mimic eyes like butterflies have on their wings to ward off predators.

Curiously this would appear to have worked in England but not in Scotland where Mr Farage is still regarded as prey.

I've got 9 O'levels - so I can't compete with your 24 degrees. Or your boxer shorts, for that matter.
