Portes debunking a Toady interview where both the interviewer and Tory interviewee claimed that African nations face huge tariffs in trade with the EU. They don't.

Some interesting comments in the thread though about how trade with poorer nations could be done even better. Not sure I understand.

Any rule alteration to allow non-MPs to stand for leader is apparently a constitutional change that would require two thirds of party members approving.

So even if Vince wants it, far from guaranteed.

Tom Watson demands answers about alleged Russian Brexit plot
And Damian Collins has also made more comments about the limitations faced by the DCMS in investigating this recently.

A seemingly minor story at the moment, but worth keeping an eye on given the links to the Mueller investigation in the US which is starting to move into a new phase, with criminal convictions and the first hint of evidence of Tump/Russian collusion coming from Michael Cohen.

"" “We hope that Canada will come in. I think it’s a good idea if they do. There’s really not much they should object to. But if not, they will then have to be treated as a real outsider,” Ross told Fox Business Network.

Mnuchin also indicated that the US would go ahead with the US-Mexico deal with or without Canadian support. ""

“”It was in the run-up to that vote – at which the UK’s traditional European allies, including France and Germany, chose to abstain – that Mr Johnson is alleged to have called the Mauritian prime minister.

“After the Brexit vote, support for the UK collapsed,” said Philippe Sands, the British lawyer who is representing Mauritius.( Return of the Chagos Islands)

“Britain has fallen off its pedestal. I think we’re seeing a story here about… the end of empire and the end of colonialism in a small part of Africa in the Indian Ocean, coinciding with a moment when [Britain] seems to be turning inward.”””
