If only Boris Johnson had occupied one of four major offices of state and been in cabinet for last 2 years. Could all have been different.

The tories really need to get with it, who uses a phrase like 'great charlatan'? Sarah Wollaston, not some dinosaur in the HoL.

Three years ago I was frequently advised in a rather patronising manner that Corbyn is a really nice man, a great anti racist a polite pacifist but no leader. Now one of the most popular leaders of the largest debt free party I am told daily Corbyn is an evil dangerous racist.

Pretty straightforward. Data shows that DUP is increasing chances of a United Ireland by embracing #Brexit - can there ever have been a more ridiculous stance from a Unionist party?

Is that a challenge?

David Trimble, back in his leadership days, didn't refer to most of his fellow Ulster Unionist MPs as "the woodentops" for nothing.

Back from a morning in school - no snake oil salesmen, no "please buy our product/ides"...just "what are we here for and what are our shared beliefs and vision?"

And I've just remembered the date..."It was the Third of September...."

Fracking is back in England – and only the Tories want it
Lancastrians protested against it, the council rejected it, the health impacts are shocking. But this government doesn’t care

People, hydraulic fracturing is one of the worst things leadership can foist onto communities
It's too dangerous
I'm frightened of it based upon what I've seen with my own eyes and reading research about this method of fossil fuel extraction
Tory government are doing this against the wishes of people living there
It's horrifying

I think that still puts the SNP ahead of Labour in pro-rata terms.

It's a typo, but from what I've read, that would be more informative.

It was close for the last place, then. Had hoped (and expected tbh) that Black would do better.

Maybe some more "moderates" should have supported her, rather than awful careerist rubbish like Beckett.

Interesting list, I thought. Does the UK belong there? Certainly the EU referendum has led to unprecedented levels of power being concentrated in the hands of the executive via the withdrawal bill. The biggest difference in the UK's case is that May seems to resemble a hostage of circumstances outside of her control than a would be dictator shoring up power.

(cJA edit)
I disagree. May and her Tory party crew are using circumstances to entrench Tory leadership of the country for the benefit of the Tory party. Using the results of the EU referendum accomplishing this is a choice consciously made.

A few years ago, some time well before his 2015 US speech on Iran, Netanyahu was hosting some great meeting , and a few days before that Elie Wiesel was on at least two radio stations here and probably the TV too. The not particularly subliminal message, relating to Iran, really struck me, it was

” We are in 1938. Appeasement. Genocide ! “

We began today with Lord Sachs going on about fearful jews emigrating if there is a Corbyn government, and he was on R4 for half an hour this evening lecturing on Morality.

Wall to wall stuff for ages now in the media bubble . But interestingly the public don't appear to be moved by it from the polls ?
