Re: Wednesday 7th November 2018
I don’t think, physically, that I could bear to listen to Trump, but reading a transcript is a hoot —
17.14 LIVE ” If the Republicans won and let’s say we held on by two or one or three, it would have been very hard” to hold a majority, he says. “That puts us in a very bad position. In other words, had we kept… it puts us in a very tough position.”
((He does not seem to understand the nature of congressional leadership and the majority party’s ability to run committees, conduct oversight and advance a legislative agenda. ))(my brackets)
“Now we have a much easier path because the Democrats will come to us… and we’ll negotiate.”
Then his biggest whopper yet: “The Democrats stick together well.”
“I really respect what Nancy said last night about bipartisanship and .. uniting.”
“I can see it being extremely good politically because I think I’m better at that than they are.” ”
Such modesty, really glad that I’m already sitting down

Well nothing is impossible, but it would be *so* freakish that demands to change the system might become irresistible.frog222 wrote:I completely agree that it should not , but it could conceivably be possible ?AnatolyKasparov wrote:Re my above post, it seems that going on House results the Dems may have a PV lead of approaching 10% nationally.
Electoral college or not, it is almost inconceivable that an advantage of that magnitude would not deliver them the White House.

It's very like the word my younger sister and I used to insult each other
we now use the word as a term of endearment

Like PFY I've had problems with the word . Perhaps the 'gub' bit is not aesthetically pleasing, or is it because of the obvious Latin origin which sets it apart from most peoples' understanding ?citizenJA wrote:gubernatorial It's very like the word my younger sister and I used to insult each other we now use the word as a term of endearment true story
Rees-Mogg and BoJo country .
"" 2. Both "govenor" and its adjective form, "gubernatorial", originally derive from the same Latin word "gubernare" (to govern) yet we use root "govern" in all contexts ("govern", "government", "governor", "governing", "governmental"...) except for "gubernatorial." ""

AK -- whoops !
From my very sketchy knowledge it appeared that he actually was not, rather surprisingly, a 100% Trump brown-noser .
What next ?

The one thing Sessions did not do was to 'terminate' Mueller ?
