Morning all. Library day today so won't be here for long but thought this worthy of a but of tut-tutting.

‘It’s completely wrong’: falsely accused Tory MP attacks legal aid cuts

https://www.theguardian.com/law/2018/de ... l-aid-cuts
He supported the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act (Laspo) when it was passed by parliament in 2012, but says his experience since then has proved to him the act was wrong and that the legal system needs an injection of cash.

“If I had my time again I would stand up and argue against the implementation of Laspo,” said Evans, a former shadow secretary of state for Wales. “It’s wrong, completely wrong, to remove people’s right to have expert legal representation, and now I’ve gone through it I can see that clearly. We’re definitely talking about justice being denied as a result of Laspo.
Shocked etc.
If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

Though those percentages are distorted by the seats that come up for election (next year's tranche will be much more pro-Tory)

The seat gain/loss figures are maybe the more significant there.......

It went very well thank you, quite a bit of money raised for the hospital ward where my father spent his final days.

I contributed two rounds concerning 1939 and 2018 (the years he was born and passed away) 12 questions (1 per month) in each.

May provide a few Qs later, though there's arguably not much point as you can all look up the answers if you don't know :D

Ah OK, get it now - wondered why he was trending.

Knighthood?

Seriously, what has he ever done to deserve that?
