When you've had thirty plus years of collusive game playing where each side accuses the other of putting the not sick on the sick what the fuck did they think would be the inevitable result?

You can tell just how sick he was from the fact that the DWP have been driven to apologise, rare as flying pigs.

Well you don't get them called "coffee tables" for nothing.

(though why that and not "tea tables" is another question entirely)

Note the contortions necessary to present it as a "womens' issue".Not helpful and insulting.

You could argue in any which way you.wanted eg.it is harder for men, given less likely to self report, more reticent to seek support, lack of network, more probability to have to learn more skills etc.In short warping it to suit your own pre existing bias/viewpoint misrepresents, skews narrative, exacerbates the very factors bemoaned.

For some reason, I'm not comfortable looking in on FTN but not signing in. I'm nearly always distracted throughout my day after having given a greeting and may not post or (more rarely) not read the day's post but if I've signed in, I like saying goodnight as well.

Romanticising, patronising - a diversion attempting to absolve representative government from their job - providing all people with competent administration and resource allocation for their communities throughout the nation. People typically love their family, friends and communities. Some times are harder than others; people have different needs. People always need functional health, education, transportation, energy and communications infrastructure. Governments unwillingness appropriately providing this must leave making way for responsible leadership. Government isn't even pretending they act in the interests of those regular people.

Well quite. That's life, what life's about. We're living with people we love and we care with each other.

Every person in the country is as important as another. No one is more important than another person. Those aren't just words strung together expressing a platitude. I know it's true; true in a place without words. Those holding onto power and resources preventing the rest from having their share are contemptible. I gave and give and took and take. If I can do it, anyone can. I'm sometimes too selfish; I continue working on a balance between enough and too much.

Most men and women throughout the world have everything in common; more in common than differences. Human needs are one. I see one nemesis. A few swallowing the whole world leaving little for everyone else.

Evening all. Long day at the Essex Record Office looking at, y'know, old stuff...

Oh dear...

Rightwing thinktank breached charity law by campaigning for hard Brexit

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... ard-brexit
The commission added that all the politicians at the launch were “people known publicly to support a particular approach or outcome to Brexit and three of the four were from the same political party. By inviting only those who held a particular set of views, IEA risked the public perception that the IEA is politically biased and has a political viewpoint opposed to the government’s current Brexit policy.”
But it is and everyone knows it is.
