Be aware as well that when you catch the eye of other people whilst you are singing along silently (or at least you think it's silently, you with your headphones in. YES YOU) that can also be quite interesting.

There seems to be quite a debate about Modern Monetary Theory at the moment.

I kind of get the basics of it all, but have no way of assessing for myself the validity of the arguments being made.

Presumably, everyone is right and everyone is wrong to some extent. It seems unlikely to me that one simple model will account for the complexity of a global economy with billions of actors.

I've seen a few articles supposedly explaining the difference between MMT and Neo-Keynesian economics but so far nobody's managed to explain it in a way I can understand.

My conclusion so far is that current govt thinking is so far away from either that, were one or the other adopted, it would be a long time before we needed to worry about which was correct and much good would be done in the meantime.

"In the months preceding her death, the charity had changed the home’s resident profile from people with complex mental health needs to those with learning disabilities. The move allowed it to use lower-paid workers. New staff were not qualified in mental health and some agency workers had no experience."
