One Whitehall source says: “In recent weeks there have been an increasing number of mentions in cabinet minutes about how Brexit has to be delivered for the sake of the Conservative party. That will be damning when the public inquiry into Brexit happens. The civil service are now finding ways of ensuring that the political decisions that are being taken will one day be fully understood.” (Politics Live, Guardian)

No deal used to be unthinkable, no-one spoke of it. Slowly but surely it grew in appeal and acceptability and became the default for many Brexiters.

Strikes me revocation is now going through same process for remainers. It's astonishing how quickly these things can move.

Part of the problem is that the media aren't properly articulating what 'no-deal' actually is. People think it's us leaving with everything staying the same, not, "we have no treaties, no agreements, no way to import or export".

There was a brief item on the news. It was about the EU's "No Deal" plans (they've produced a hefty document, which I've dubbed the "No Deal Handbook") and allied stuff. Visas for European long-stays, financial viability checks, mobile 'phone roaming charges, and much else. It was a short piece which I think has only been on once. We need\ed much more of this sort of information.

I’m sorry, is this for real? Have the leaders of the hard Brexiteers just called themselves the same name as the leaders of the Ku Klux Klan? (Politics Live, Guardian)

I'm not sure if this is something they call themselves (either having come up with it or having embraced it) or if it's a case that someone else has described them thus and they (the Hard Brexiters) don't, themselves, use the description. Does anyone here know, please?

As well as Richard Harrington, the Foreign Office minister Alistair Burt and the health minister Steve Brine have also resigned because they voted for the Letwin amendment, government sources have confirmed.

This was an important observation from Ken Clarke

As his amendment does not set out precisely the form that the indicative votes will take, there is a real danger that if everybody votes for their first preference, we will not produce a majority for anything. His amendment does not set out the basis on which the indicative vote motions are to be tabled. How are we to resolve the method by which we table them? The opinion of the hon. Member for Bishop Auckland (Helen Goodman) and myself is that the single transferable vote is the best way to steer people to one conclusion. It will force compromise, except from those who will vote only for their first preference.
