I've been following the TV news, and there are so many conflicting reports about what's going on that I simply don't know what to say about any of it.

Afternoon all. Scraped a point at the last minute so not top any longer.

This is Geoffrey Cox speaking...

A bit bleedin' late to be saying this!

In an ideal world the government would have done this:

1. Have civil servants produce a document outlining all of these complexities
2. Tell Farage etc "Right, until you can come up with a plan which deals with all of these, you're not getting a referendum."
If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

For there to be Theresa May's deal or "no "Brexit" at all" (as Theresa May keeps harping on about) surely she (TM) would need to revoke Article 50 for the latter to happen. Or does she regard "No Deal" as an arbitrary expulsion (ie nothing to do with the UK)?

(cJA bold)
that's the story she's likely to tell, yes
based upon below the line elsewhere, handling no deal Brexit isn't government's job, government has nothing to do with it
businesses and individual people are the ones not properly prepared
neither did nurses, law enforcement or teachers
that's not a comprehensive list

Paywalled in the telegraph
The Government has abandoned creating laws to tackle extremism because it is “too difficult” as their last attempt would have even criminalised Jeremy Clarkson, the former reviewer of terrorism laws has said.
I do apologise for stating the bleedin' obvious, but what they're saying is that it's too difficult to create laws tackling extremism because it would involve admitting that what they are trying to pass as 'mainstream' is, in reality, what they would be targeting as criminal extremism.
