Blame the poor, praise the rich
Make the connections, put them in print
Keep 'em boxed in, keep 'em kettled in

Morning all.

Wedding anniversary today - 33 years! - so we're celebrating by 'er indoors doing a long shift and me sorting out piles of CDs and then going off to a gig before she comes home.

The secret of a happy marriage...not actually seeing each other...

Yet another of UKIP's MEPs has jumped ship to the Brexit Party - leaving just 3 of the 24 originally elected in 2004; Batten and his close pals Agnew and Hookem.

An attrition rate of 87.5% in the end - that's pretty "impressive".

Been visiting my brother for the last few days and his elderly racist neighbours have their Union Jack at half mast. Apparently it shall only be raised again once Brexit happens. I did try asking them about it but they didn't seem keen on talking to me. Might have had something to do with my EU flag t-shirt.

Also I just found a woman's purse on the way home, it's full of cards and a driving license and she's evidently a young doctor. I've tried looking on Facebook but can't find her and I don't have an account anyway. I guess the easiest thing would just be to hand it in to the Police but any other tracking down advice would be appreciated.

On the plus side I now have some credit card numbers for the forthcoming porn checks.

The left are far from exempt in their "poor" versus not and diversive pernicious consequences, extra costs are extra costs. An injury to the relative well off is of equal import.

The victim of an acid attack who suffered 50% burns to her face and body has overturned an attempt to strip her of a disability benefit after being told she was fit for work.

The woman, who finds it difficult to sit or stand for long without pain and is bed-bound for weeks after reconstructive operations, appealed after officials awarded her zero points at an assessment to test her eligibility for disability employment benefit.

A tribunal hearing on Thursday took less than 20 minutes to uphold her appeal, awarding her 24 points, and restoring her employment and support allowance (ESA). The appeal panel, consisting of a judge and a medical doctor, paid tribute to the woman’s courage.

I mean honest to god how the fuck does a 'health care professional' live with themselves knowing that for a small bonus for hitting their target they've increased the suffering of someone in obvious physical and psychological pain?

Wasn't this shit supposed to stop happening after Sue Marsh took the Devil's shilling?

It would be better to influence them from within she said.

Maximus aren't Atos she said.

And yet here we are, still with the sick, the disabled and the mentally ill being denied benefits the law says they are entitled to.

Under ATOS the overturning by tribunal rate was around 65%, under Maximus it's 77%.

So things have quite undeniably got worse.

And as somebody reliant on this fucked up system there's nothing you can do.

I can endeavour to collect as much medical evidence as I like from various sources but all that matters until the tribunal stage is the idiot tick box exercise of the WCA, where you're left at the mercy of a 'health care professional' who is already working for a for profit company, asking misleading questions while pretending to care about anything other than the money they so obviously crave.

Medical evidence counts for nothing until it meets genuine doctors and lawyers after the DWP have fucked you about for 6 months.

How is such a situation sane?

It's only a few percent of the total is the stock reply.Of course that still is a hell of a lot of people and clearly the alacrity of overturns when reaching that stage is indisputable evidence of systematic "failure".

We thankfully didn't have a WCA or previous PCA,paper only, the 'phone calls from the DWP or more likely agents of and the criminalised if you don't further information when requested to do so,purely on amount of savings was bad enough.

Forgot you supported Leeds Hindle,

I believe I may be the only one here who actually lives in Leeds, a curious city where you never see anyone wearing a Leeds United top.

It might have something to do with Leeds supporters behaving like dicks for a considerable number of years.
