Never liked the play off nonsense to be honest,if you don't automatically qualify over the whole season ,you shouldn't go up.And don't get me started on the European Cup.

Morning all.

Politics must be one of the few areas where its people don't seem to be aware that they might not be very good at it and quit to do something else.

Probation will be renationalised after disastrous Grayling reforms
Following years of damning criticism from MPs, inspectorates and former probation officers, the justice secretary, David Gauke, has decided to bring all offender management under the National Probation Service (NPS) by spring 2021. He said the private sector would still play a part in the provision of services, with £280m worth of contracts for rehabilitation services such as the provision of unpaid work....
(cJA edit)
Providing someone with unpaid work is called a rehabilitation service

Starmer quashes speculation Labour could abstain on Brexit bill, saying it will vote against if no cross-party deal agreed
...at Brexit questions in the Commons this morning Sir Keir Starmer, the shadow Brexit secretary, said the same. He told MPs:
If the prime minister’s deal is put [to a vote] for the a fourth time, if it’s allowed, it will fail, just as it’s failed three times already. But I want to make it clear that Labour opposes the idea of passing the withdrawal agreement bill without an agreed deal. That would put the cart before the horse. And Labour will vote against at second reading on that basis.

Mr Cable said that his party would ideally like a three-way referendum, with the PM’s deal, Remain and leaving without a deal.

He said: “Well, I think there are various suggestions made about how you frame three options into questions and I think you would get a clear and unambiguous result.”

Under Islamic law, abortion is permissible up to the fourth month of pregnancy.

Maybe GOP state legislatures are so obsessed with banning "Sharia Law" because it isn't conservative enough.

That is something I genuinely didn't know, and all the more surprising given how morally conservative Islamic law is in so many ways.

Understand the 1922 Committee executive has been sworn to secrecy until Sir Graham Brady has published his written statement on Theresa May's future.

Statement coming in next 15 minutes apparently.

Received an e-mail today from Jeremy Corbyn. All well and good so far as reasons for voting Labour (which I do) go. As for his EU election pitch . . .

I received the "Brexit" Party's leaflet today. Addressed, came delivered (don't know by whom, but I don't think it came by post) unencumbered by junk mail. Unlike Labour's.

I haven't had any EU election stuff from anyone yet that I've noticed (if the Labour leaflet is going out with junkmail I might have missed it).

Turnout is going to be interesting, I think. I'm in the same region as Gibraltar, for instance, which has been left a bit high and dry by Brexit. Will there be a protest vote or will people stay home, fed up to the back teeth with it all?

My Labour leaflet was in the middle of a Jacks flyer. Would have been very easy to miss. The only other one I've had was the Brexit Party, which was delivered separate and addressed (like PF's).

Tories privatise, renationalise, throw people out their home, country, lift citizenship and sell any future left to hedge funders.
