". People with experience of regularly using adult social care must be fully involved in the co-design and co-production of adult social care services.
As previous,a two way process ,people must be encouraged to take control.DNA means do not accept. The evidence in doing so leads to better and extended lives, all things being equal is unquestionable.

Morning all.
There was a Boris-supporting minister on Today and was asked about the allegation about restricting Johnson's access to intelligence
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-48874147" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
He was trying to be careful in not criticising No 10 and this bit amused me.
"What do you think about the allegations?"
"Well, that's something you should ask Boris"
"If only"...

"Would free personal care be the only available support that people can access without payment? If so, a measure which nobly aims to protect people from the catastrophic costs of paying for life and limb care could come at a catastrophic cost to anyone who needs some support to secure or maintain a life to live. In fact it could extinguish the vision of personalised care and support to promote wellbeing in the Care Act altogether, while creating a raft of other social and economic problems."

Direct payments/personal budget provide the avenue of flexibility "nominally" largely personal care,in reality I did that it freed up resources/time for a semblance of an independent life.

No offence to basket weavers and bingo players.
Re: Friday 5th July 2019
And if I had £1 for every time I've heard someone on TV say we need to Brexit so we can move on, I'd be rich.
a) Brexit with or without a deal means negotiating with the EU for the next x years
b) Tories aren't going to do anything about any of those other things anyway.
We all know that so there's nothing to talk about.

The same Tories that seems necessary rooms for care spare and chargeable as default and introduced an interest bearing loan as the only housing support for homeowners in lieu of about a monkey a week, regardless if in an adapted home, otherwise hospital based treatments ?

Back from weekly shop and found John McCririck trending.
At first I thought he must be a prospective MP for The Brexit Party being their ideal type but no, apparently he's died.

‘My employer, ma’am—Mr. Heep—once did me the favour to observe to me, that if I were not in the receipt of the stipendiary emoluments appertaining to my engagement with him, I should probably be a mountebank about the country, swallowing a sword-blade, and eating the devouring element. For anything that I can perceive to the contrary, it is still probable that my children may be reduced to seek a livelihood by personal contortion, while Mrs. Micawber abets their unnatural feats by playing the barrel-organ.’

Jeremy Hunt said austerity “went too far” on cuts to policing and social care. But he said this was only with the benefit of hindsight.
As I said earlier, it's impossible to have a sensible discussion about this stuff.
It's not that far from Trump's War of Independence airports imo.

You write what I'm thinking better than me. The only response to somene flatly contradicting what they've done or said is to point out their lie or contradiction. They'll ignore that response as long as they can. If pressed, they'll escalate into withering gazes and hostile projections. Those projections are everything they are childishly foisted onto one pointing out they're lying or contradicting themselves. It's impossible having a reasonable exchange.gilsey wrote:Jeremy Hunt said austerity “went too far” on cuts to policing and social care. But he said this was only with the benefit of hindsight.

Here's the record, this is what was said and done. New promises of something different with a record of promising one thing and doing another are worthless.
