Oh but it's OK because he's got a big brain according to unbiased LauraK. She measured it with string and cross-checked the results with Norris McWhirter.

I suspect defending their record in Coalition is a tactic to win back centre-right votes lost to the Tories rather than to court left-leaning voters.HindleA wrote:https://amp.theguardian.com/commentisfr ... ssion=true

Got an email from Labour yesterday, telling us that "we can stop Boris".
All fine and good, but one way of doing that might actually be to stop calling him "Boris".

If true, would be an appalling error of judgement to appoint someone who has been in contempt of Parliament. Very rare for this to happen & would be shameful to be rewarded by PM with such a high profile role. Good morfternoon.
Shamed Tory ex minister Priti Patel will be handed a plum job in Boris Johnson's top team as the new Prime Minister launches his first reshuffle tonight.
Theresa May sacked Ms Patel from her job as International Development Secretary after it emerged she had conducted 'off-the-books' meetings with senior Israeli officials during a 'family holiday'.(Mirror)

Re: Wednesday 24th July 2019
From a purely psychosocial standpoint, the Tory obsession with Corbyn (and Labour) is interesting. Tories are fragile and display it openly; they're probably unaware of their transparency. We've had nearly a decade of hardship Tory governments intentionally imposed as well as their having placed the nation in an internationally disastrous position. This minority Tory government's response to, 'use this time wisely' was using it preposterously. They've no mandate and no more than a handful of rational MPs total. They're certainly not a functional government. They mean to destabilise Labour in order to give themselves a chance of coming ahead in a GE. The well-being of most people doesn't figure in Tory government's machinations at all.AnatolyKasparov wrote:May's last ever PMQs - anybody watching?

I'm a Labour party member. It's inappropriate for other party's MPs and their members telling the current Labour party leader to stand down. Not to put a too fine a point on it - they may fuck right off.

However, the most hilarious stat for me is that Corbyn has outlasted *seven* UKIP leaders.
Given that some thought he might only last months when first elected.......

From the GSajid Javid confirmed as chancellor
Sajid Javid is the new chancellor, No 10 has confirmed.
Given his main competition appeared to be Liz Truss, this isn't a huge surprise.

Cumming's certainly certainly a lot smarter than most Brexiteers and a great campaigner; but he loathes a lot of the ERG mob and I'm struggling to see how he'll work with Lister, Sedwill and other strong characters in the cabinet office.

The hard right has taken over the Conservative Party. Thatcherites, libertarians and No Deal Brexiters control it top to bottom. Liberal One Nation Conservatives have been ruthlessly culled. Only a few neutered captives are being kept on as window dressing. 1/
